The issues of the liaison officers is that their existence is about Serbia recognizing Kosovo independence and the Albanians don't have to say anything about it because it is clear that they have to use euphamisms and not go beyond the details too much.

Sadik's mission is a very precise list of tasks in order to harmonize the relations between Serbia and Kosovo. He is not allowed to act nor speak as ambassador and I hope he will manage technical issues succesfully.

These guys will never become ambassadors. With that comes diplomatic immunity and diplomatic passage which means contraband. Maybe they would open a casino. No way, not in Belgrade.

I am curious how long will he last?

I presume till he becomes an ambassador ,but it will take some time

"Sadiku is strictly forbidden from insisting that liaison officers have diplomatic status," writes the paper.

So, when in Serbia, he should stay with the truth that liaison officers don't have a diplomatic status, while in Pristina, he (and other Kosovo politicans) can still claim that he is 'Kosovo's ambassador to Serbia', for pleasing the local population?
