Because of this, the session was suspended for a while, while leader Albin Kurti addressed the assembly to say that the agreement was "damaging to Kosovo," as it had "ceded control over the north to Serbia."
>> That's wrong for two reasons. First, according to some around here, Serbs are now at the complete mercy of an all powerful central Kosovo authority that dominates their lives, actions, thoughts, and beliefs. And second, it's not just the north that the government ceded control over, but also parts of the center and south as well :)
"I would call on the international community not to support the Self-Determination, that's not necessary, it's only necessary that they say the truth about these criminals," Kurti was quoted as saying.
>> We all would like the international community to say the truth about these criminals, but I imagine "the truth" is different to Kurti than to us :)
On Friday, ambassadors posted in Kosovo by five western countries issued a joint statement strongly condemning the violent acts of the Self-Determination Movement and its activists, witnessed yesterday "inside and outside" the assembly building.
>> Let's hope they also condemn the violence directed against Serbs by Albanians today who apparently are fresh from one act of collective aggrievement to have headed out to another.
Never acting; always reacting.
