btw, Serbia can't walk away from the warm embrace of the EU even if she wanted to. If she could walk away from the EU, she would have done it by now.

It wont be easy for Serbia to avoid absorption into the 4th Reich but it is possible. Serbia needs Russian S400 anti-aircraft rockets and enough surface-to-surface missiles to reduce Berlin to rubble. Only militarily powerful nations keep their independence.

Michael,

You're hallucinating if you think Putin would give rockets to the Serbs.
It would be like letting a monkey fly an airplane. You Serbs sure do have illusions of grandeur. What do you think NATO would do?

Merkel Cancels on Croatian EU celebration

The German government told the Croatian news agency Hina that Merkel "lacks time" to come to Zagreb.

However, the Croatian media have interpreted Merkel's cancellation as a message of dissatisfaction with Croatia's reluctance to extradite Josip Perkovic, a former Croatian secret service official suspected of murdering a Croat in Germany in 1983.

The same day Merkel cancelled her trip to Zagreb, Germany's countercriminal office renewed its arrest warrant for Perkovic, originally filed several years ago.

Eveyone else says January at the latest, but Germany says January at the earliest. No date, just one long running joke where Germany's allies get an easy pass in to the EU (Croatia, corruption, still hiding some artillery logs from the ICTY & poor refugee returns). Walk away from this BS.

EL Dudo,

What can I say, some countries are more equal than others.

If Serbia begins accession negotiations in January 2014 the country will probably join the EU in 2022.

Serbia will need minimum 8 years to join the EU once the accession negotiations begin. Just look at Croatia.

Serbia might need more than 8 years if it encounters problems during the accession process.

In the meantime, I think that Serbs should go to Zagreb on 30 June and ENJOY CROATIA'S EU PARTY.
