As everybody knows, Nicolic and Serbia is fighting another loosing battle, like so many in the past. Even the blindest serb national should have realized that after the cancellation of the conference in Macedonia a few weeks ago. In the future Serbia will have to choose between simply not participating or accepting the presence of representatives from Kosovo in conferences like these, and the so called 'Gymnich formula' will only be a temporary thing. Very soon Kosovo's participation will be with all State insignia and Serbia will not be able to do anything about it. Why do Serbia and its politicians constantly dig their own graves, embarrass themselves, and show the world how powerless and redicules they really are? Don't thery ever learn?

A very interesting perspective Comm. of course, they could make it clear to Miss Jahjaga that Kosova is not on equal footing, but the fact that they don't and that Kosova's opinion has the same weight as Serbia's, well it means that your analysis is way off. My perspective; they didn't want to offend the Serbs, who have a record of walking out of meetings anytime Kosova's flag has been present. This way at least, they can humour Nikolic and pretend that they don't see Kosova as a state.

Yes, probably you will celebrate that as one more great 'success' for Kosovo: All other states have to bow down to the same low non-state level, only because Kosovo cannot be participate as a state.

"... the gathering is held under the so-called "Gymnich formula", i.e. all parties are special guests, not political-figure heads.

"We have the pleasure to witness both Serbia and Kosovo taking part for the first time in an international event at the presidential level."

So much for that formula if everyone recognizes that the meeting is between 20 presidents of different countries.

"So if there is no flag for Serbia or Slovakia does that mean they are not indePendent? "
(Brian, 13 June 2013 16:56)

No, its not about being independent. It only means that because 'Kosova' is not a state, the hosts want to be polite and not want to embarrass poor Ms. Jahjaga, all other presidents (which are, unlike her, presidents of recognized states) must have no state name and flag, neither.

Kosova, is inching her way to the top! Yea, it is taking a little longer then anticipated, but it won't be to much longer before Serbia, also officially recognizes a independent Kosova! Why, even if she doesn't, Serbia will be so tangled up in European agreements & stipulations, that she won't have a chance of hindering any of Kosova's ambitions! That's what happens when you get yourself all tangled up in a spiders web! You become immobilized, as is Serbia's case!!!

Kosova being there means everyone agrees kosova is an independent nation! So if there is no flag for Serbia or Slovakia does that mean they are not indePendent? Of course not! They are there! If they were not an indepenent nation they wouldn't be there! This is why recognitions for kosova are exploding! Everyone is in agreement kosova is independent. Especially serbia

Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga is also attending the summit, and for that reason the gathering is held under the so-called "Gymnich formula" - participants are identified by name and there will not be flags next to their name cards at the discussion table.

Did someone said the other day, that Kosova President cannot display flag and any state insignia! TO BAD, that Serbia cannot display its flag either. ANYWAY, Thanks to Yemen for recognizing Kosova yesterday.
