Milosevic warned Serbs this would happen if they brought the DOS to power, but Serbs didn't listen. Serbs were fools to support the CIA/western/anti-Serbia backed Otpor phony "resistance".
Once it came into power it started privatizing anything Serbia had left and selling it low to crooks. Crooks who resold it in pieces and made more than they bought it for and left hundreds of thousands of more unemployed in their wake.
Vucic won't point the finger but Djindjic & Tadic were at the helm when it happened and when the borrowing was extra high. And that money they borrowed was misspent.

I do think it's too bad that Serbia wasn't forgiven debt by Russia like they did for Afghanistan, Iraq and other countries.
Serbia itself forgave Iraq a huge debt in return for 1/10 of the debt's amount to be used to purchase arms from Serbia. I believe it was a billion dollar debt and Serbia reduced it to only 100 million that Iraq was to purchase. Or maybe it was a 100 million reduced down to 10 million. I just remember it was only 1/10 of what Serbia was owed.

Here's a perfect opportunity for your Russian brothers to come bail you out. Let the money flow.
(cry me a river, 5 June 2013 20:40)

Why not, and why is it wrong to have someone powerful on your side? Serbia and Russias' friendship and respect for each other are not since yesterday. And of course “money makes the world go round…”

I have always said that Serbia is the only part of the former Yugoslavia that has the potential to survive on its own and prosper. Kosovo is unable to survive because it does not have the resources to do so.
The west has gone beyond the point where it can return and still provide its people with a good standard of living. It is borrowing more and more and people like you will end up with the bill. Next time you go to the supermarket and you see prices going up and up, as they are, while TV tells you they are forcing them down and your life is getting better and better..... give it some thought.
Read up on the boiling frog... before you even know it you’re cooked. That my little man is what is happening to you right now.

I enjoy reading sj's 'intelligent' comments.
Next time you want to talk about the WEst, especially the US, consider this:
California's economy is $2T. To put it terms that even you can comprehend it means it's the 9th largest economy in the world and it has a surplus of cash. You can add Indiana, Michigan, Iowa, Florida and Texas to that list. The US as a whole is moving in the same direction.

Now, about Serbia being the only country with potential...well almost every single country that was part of the former Yugo has potential.
If Serbia's rate is 11% imagine what the true rate of inflation might be!

BTW, Serbia is on the verge of bankruptcy and DESPERATELY needs EU funds.

The problem is dealing with semi illiterate people that have never experienced life outside of a pizza parlour. You’re comparing Serbia with the west? What are you on? Crack?

No wonder, since the previous ruling party over-indebted the country especially in the last months of their ruling, when they suspect that there is the possibility of loosing the elections.

We are not the only ones. The most important thing is to consolidate and put more effort and discipline to start the production and to reduce the spending. It is a hard and long process but in the end it will pay off.

Where is sj to tell everyone how the west is out of money and the only chance for Kosovo to survive is to return under the wing of the prosperous and economically superior Serbia?

Putting all your bets on a stone dead, but still very Serb hating, horse(€USSR)while BRICS and Russia in particular invites you with open arms is as backwards as it can be.

(Maya, 5 June 2013 14:28)
Hmmm, curious as to where these invitations are except in the minds of Serbs?
Name one source where the BRICS countries have invited Serbia to join their group or even have taken a unified position on anything in Serbia.
Also Russia has opened its arms only so it can take from Serbia not to embrace it. The only thing Serbia has left to sell is Telekom, and I am sure Russia will be ready to pay 1/3 of any other offer soon in exchange for "support" on the Kosovo issue.

What do you expect?

When will the "spring" as in Turkey, come to Serbia? Will it ever? Or are OTPOR/CANVAS and some 1.800 western funded NGOs going to lose their strangle hold on Serbia any time soon?

I can't believe it.

You mean when your girlfriend dumps you, moves out and calls the cops and you spend half of your energy for the next 15 years crying about what a bitch she is and how you'll be together again one day, flying around the world telling everyone you haven't broken up actually has a cost associated with it??

You've gotta be kidding me!
