That's true, Anna. sorry for contributing to sidelining the conversation :)

2 billion isn't even going to scratch the surface of T's suggestions.

rail infrastructure alone needs a minimum of 10 billion to bring it back into the 20th century.

All of the comments about Serbia's location in Europe are useless and missed the mark completely. "T" made some excellent suggestions about ways to invest in Serbia's future - give young people the skills to be viable in this changing world, expand the export Serbia's natural bounty, and build ways for easier movement of both people and products. Far better than previous squandering of money that filled private pockets and ended up in Cyprus.

Serbia isn't at the heart of anything, T. Sorry to break it to you, but Serbia is an underdeveloped semi black hole on Europe's periphery's periphery.

"Serbia is at the heart of Europe"

Is there a new map of Europe? Or a special Serbian one? Last time I looked Serbia was located somewhere in the south-east fringes of Europe.

No projects to invest in??
Here are a 3 ideas to get you ministers going;
1) Education. 2 billion invested today would yield 4 billion in 5 years, 6 billion in 10. Here is how. Technology is driving the world economy. With this investment Serbia could become a tech-savvy nation, companies would invest here because of the human and infrastructural resources available.
2) Agriculture. Not just give money to farmers but, again, invest in smart agricultural projects that turn a profit. How? Just look at what the Dutch are doing for instance. Holland, the most densely populated country in the world is also one of the world's largest exporter of flowers, livestock, cheese and onions. They have manged to create farms in warehouses! 2 Billion goes a long way to catch up with them.
3) Infrastructure. Railways, roads, ports (on the rivers), canals and airports. Serbia is at the heart of Europe. Build a strong infrastructure network and companies will come and invest, providing jobs for 100's of thousands. Jobs bring money to families and in return they consume, providing even more jobs. Consumers are the corner stone of support to the economy.

Now Serbia can buy 60% of the outstanding "Srpska telecom" for over a billion since they bought the so profitable 40% lol. So Serbia can keep the delusion in Bosnia financed another year Dodo will be thrilled. The expensive delusions are a big sucking vacume to keep runing delusionaly of coarse.

I love how the government tries to take credit for the fact that they can get more for the company now.

They can get more for it, because the Greeks sold back their 30% stake to Telekom 2 years ago.

"And what to do with that money? If we use it to ease social tensions, what would we do in a year or two? The problem is that we do not have projects in which we would invest that money."

What a problem. What about using it for reducing some debt instead of spending it? I know, for a politician this thought is totally absurd.

Somehow surprising how they can expect 2 billions now, keeping in mind that the latest sale was canceled because the highest bid in the auction have been 1.1 billion.
