"Cut officials’ pay instead of freezing pensions, wages”

Deputy PM Jovan Krkobabić has stated that instead of freezing public sector wages and pensions, salaries of state officials should be cut.

Oh yes, a genius in maths. So, cutting wages of the few 1.000-10.000 state officials by a few percent should yield the same results than freezing pensions and wages for some 500.000 or even more pensioners and wages of workers in the public sector?
