I have a vivid memory when yugo cars came to USA, and before you know it, there was advertising if you buy a Cadillac, you get one yugo for free.

I too remember the Yugo, I actually stopped one day to look at one since they were so cheap. I opened the door and closed it, that was all I needed to see how flimsy the door was. It was wise I did not look further as they became known as throw away cars, you drive for a few months and then throw away. Within 2 years you never saw any on the road at all.
However, I hope the Fiat is different, the US could use some economical cars.

(Luigi, 27 May 2013 16:53) Ay yay Luigi taking away from Italian Babino's rite from their mouths laguini. 500 imported Italian managers riding on the backs of poor Serb workers at Kragujevac plant. At the same time paying Serb workers meagre pittance. Also the Serb government paying 10,000 Euros for every job created dose it make any economic sense. Now the Serb slave workers are pissed off and damaging the cars. When dose it end Luigi? when dose it end? I thought you said Italians are good friends of the down trodden Serbs more like good users as usual tsk tsk.

Shipments of 3,000 vehicles will arrive in the U.S. every two weeks, and there are plans to export more than 35,000 cars.

Questioner

pre 10 godina

"The mass production of the 500L model for the North American market began in Kragujevac, in the largest car factory in Southeast Europe, in March."

Is it really the largest car factory? Regarding what? Size? Production? Dacia produces about 350.000 cars per year in Romania, how many are (going to be) produced in Serbia?
