Average net salary in Serbia RSD 46,530

The average net salary in Serbia in April totaled RSD 46,530 (EUR 419) relative to the salary in March, and it is higher by 11.6 percent in nominal terms.

Farcical information.

Average as a concept is only useful if published along with the median so we can understand the real picture. The average of 10 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 100 is 50 but the median is just 10.

An extreme example I know but nevertheless I think you get the point. These statistics as presented a misleading as best ... marketing at worst.

I would bet that this is only based on stats of people that are officially employed (less than half the work-force)

The real figure is certainly less (around 300euros for all of Serbia)

Average wages are 419 euro, but the government will give 10,000 euro for every new employee. So the government will pay the equavalent of 23.8 months of wages.
