The lengths Serbs go to Kiss Russian butts is nauseating, so no wonder the Albanians do not want to go there. Look what Serbia has given up just to keep Russia from Recognizing Kosovo and delaying the inevitable which is UN membership. You will never get that taste out of your mouth at this point no matter how hard you try.
The international community does not want Kosovo to join Albania but the more Serbia and Russia blocks things the closer the 2 will become until the division is a blur.
Also note the negotiations are for Serb rights in Kosovo not Kosovo Albanian rights in Serbia.

aaayyy,
Dardania/Kosovo could have been a both nation's land if Serbia would have not obstructed its creation every step of the way. Now I am not so sure anymore.
Daniel,
It's over , nobody can return Dardania/Kosovo to Serbian control, it's impossible (no matter how you feel about it). Even if Serbia goes to war, who's paying for it, whose kids are gone die? If successful , what are the costs of a guerrilla war that will follow the occupation. And that is the best case scenario for serbs. Albania ( a NATO country)could go to war ,Turkey could joint and so fourth. So the status of Dardania/Kosovo is just a bargaining in order to get something in return. Sooner or later it will be earned.

Currently all Dardania/Kosovo athletes compete under Albanian flag. There is also talk to extend Albanian citizenship to all Dardania/Kosovo citizens as routinely happens in all other Balkan countries.Schools have unified programs in both countries, economic ties have been multiplied, brand new highways connecting both countries have been built ( It took me 2,5 hours to travel from Tirana to Prizren and have a coffee there), only a simple picture ID is needed to pass the border. So by all means keep blocking the status, you're only contributing in creation of a Greater Albania.

the ironic thing is that he probably could. according to Transparency International, Kosova is a lot more democratic and a lot less corrupt than Russia

Russian democracy is a joke. How can Russia be democratic when its president is an ex KGB agent who kills and jails its rivals?
(Avni, 24 May 2013 18:36)

And President Bush, wasn't he director of the CIA?
https://www.cia.gov/about-cia/todays-cia/george-bush-center-for-intelligence/

Also, you and your Albanian counterparts spend way too much time saying negative things against Russia. What you should do is focus on appeasing them. You already have the US's support so you don't need to do more to get their praise. However, Russia will not allow you into the UN, shouldn't you be buttering their bread?

George Bush senior was head of the CIA prior to ever becoming President so what’s your point about Putin and the KGB? All western democracies are a joke especially the US which has had 160 years of Republicans or Democrats and no other party has ever won office in sll that time.

Avni, you Albanians should be used this this type of democracy. I didn't see any of your smart comments when witnesses were disappearing in the Haradinaj case. Or evidence and witnesses that mysteriously disappeared when the Thaci was initially mentioned in the organ trafficking case. It is well known that the Thaci-run gov't. is as corrupt and illegal as any you will find on the planet. Good luck cleaning that mess up.

Russian democracy is a joke. How can Russia be democratic when its president is an ex KGB agent who kills and jails its rivals?

Vladimir Putin is the legally elected President, the will of the vast majority of the Russian citizens. The Western politicians do not like him because he has a strong stance on many issues, including no interference of foreign countries in the internal affairs of Russia through various NGOs. And you better ask yourself who is the prime minister of Kosovo? Former terrorist, right? President of Kosovo has undergone training CIA, if I'm not mistaken. What is that compared with the former KGB agent, little things... Democracy in Kosovo is actually a joke.

I wish such meetings will become routine enough so that not so much mutual compliments were required. More of the good deeds with less oral round abouts. Also I belive Putin would not be so generous with the finance if Toma had not explained the underground of the Brussels deal. Let's leve and see where it will lead us to.
