We don't need more taxes, we need clever implementation of tax collection.
Heavy duty taxes never really affect the rich (see Greece, Spain etc.) because the rich have the means to simply shift their operations and money elsewhere. Ordinary folk however become victims because for them the cost of living goes up and their salaries and job prospects go down.
Serbia still has a huge black economy and while it is true that a black economy to some extend can actually benefit the state it is also true that the real problem lies in what IS being declared and what SHOULD be declared. Tax avoidance and tax evasion are the loopholes the authorities need to close and tighten up while simultaneously lowering taxes in order to encourage investment and job creation.
An other point I would like to make is that government should do more to support goods made in Serbia and be less drawn to cheap loans from the Russians, Chinese and the European Development Bank because their money, cheap as it may be, always comes at a hefty price. The money they lend us is almost always linked to buying their goods and services. It is the biggest legal scam in the world.
