“Declaration on Vojvodina aimed at raising tensions”

The declaration on protection of Vojvodina’s constitutional and legal rights was unnecessary and it will only raise tensions, the ruling coalition believes.

Almost every time the diaspora had any say in Serbia (and other countries in the region for that matter) it was a big fail. Example: biggest fail of all was Srdja Trifkovic, lovely character.

Rocky you cant compare Kosovo with Vojvodina, the population in Vojvodina is more than 75%serb and noone of the other groups want to separate from Serbia. I live in Pancevo and have friends from all minorities so I know that a lot better than you do. Its just a political game by Pajtic in order to enrich himself and his pals even more, there are no similarities between Kosovo and Vojvodina whatsoever.

Hey Danilo, read the article on how Nikolic values diaspora and then come here and try once more to convince us to stay away.
BTW, have you ever lived outside Serbia yourself? If you have then you should stay away too for you a contaminated by those other countries too.
In all seriousness, what do you want? Do you want to run off everyone who doesn't agree with you and that of course would be the Serbs?

You seem to love your Croatian pals and have no problem with any of them commenting. You don't have a problem with Albanians commenting but you seem to have a problem with only Serbs.
You are nothing but a hater so anything you say is totally invalid.

Ha, ha, good guess. They pay me a fortune just to make a comment. Be serious Danilo. I live and work in Vojvodina - Serbia. I am a half Hungarian, and I do not have any interest to be on either side. I just want to live in peace as the majority of the people in this country.
PS. It is not polite to address someone with „hey“, especially i if you don’t know that person.

Danilo, no Vojvodina today comprises of Srem, Banat & Backa and those three regions collectively seceded from the Austro-Hungarian Empire. And not as Vojvodina but as three separate units who happened to secede at the same time.

Danilo

Ari,

Vojvodina wasn't invented by the communists. Vojvodina was called "Serbian Vojvodina" under Austro-Hungary.

I have no strong opinions about how Vojvodina should look. I think all of Serbia would benefit from decentralization. Have you ever been to the south of Serbia? total misery. All of Serbia would benefit from more locals deciding on the local economy.

I do, however, find it pretty funny the John Bosnitches from Canada and Ari Golds from USA telling people in Serbia what's what (and speaking in their name)

Rocky

Something Vojvodina needed to start doing a long time ago! Serbia, had grown use to intimidating the other republics & autonomys of Frm Yugoslavia! Vojvodina should be strong, and fight for its god given libertys! Just imagine, the republic of Kosova, If it would have stood idlely & let Serbia strip away all of her freedoms, where would she be today? Probably right under Serbia's foot, barely able to breath! But that was not going to be the case for Kosova, their cry which was heard around the world was, Freedom or death! And look at her today, a independent free nation with many ally's!

Ari Gold

Danilo, the majority of Serbs, Hungarians, Romanians etc. in Vojvodina do not consider themselves "Vojvodian". Why are you pushing the agenda of the administration based in Novi Sad that is attempting to forge a separation between Serbs in Northern Serbia?

Maybe you are from this region. In case you are, do you know why foodstuffs in Vojvodina is more expensive than in the rest of Serbia? The citizens there are paying for two bureaucracy's-one in Belgrade and a new one in Novi Sad. And what does this actually do for the people there? Nothing. An office in Brussels and an "Vojvodina Academy of Science" all has to come from somewhere. Citizens in Northern Serbia bankroll an entire separate government and are getting absolutely no benefit from it.

Besides "Vojvodina" is not even a historical region. It was only invented during communism but its comprised of Srem, Banat & Backa. One must ask Danilo and the fringe "Vojvodians" why they do not support decentralization of Vojvodina into those regions? What is this obsession with the idea that Vojvodina has territorial integrity??

Danilo

You're a funny one, John Bosnitch, (no one but me calls me a) Journalist.

You should be the poster boy for someone with Serbian roots who's failed at life in the West (couple of teaching gigs in Japan, then blogging to Serbs what they like to hear sporadically), coming to Serbia, thinking you might find a home here and telling Serbs like it is.

You and Zoran must have a lot to talk about :)

LOL I'm sure Vojvodians lined up around the block to appoint you their spokesman

Vojvodina red-herring declaration

A house built on sand is doomed to fall. That the Tito-nostalgists in power in Vojvodina would cite any "unanimous" decision of the communist-lackey assembly installed at the point of a gun in July 1945 Novi Sad by president-without-term-limit Tito, is the most revealing test of the political DNA of the clique running Vojvodina today. The only precedent set by any vote conducted during the one-party communist regime is a precedent only for conducting further window-dressing actions with no relationship to the popular will.

The EU's many paid agents and their allied manipulators in Serbia constitute the last remnants of the living, breathing Trojan Horse that has been inside our gates since they seized power as an illegal armed gang of bandits that rode into dictatorial control in Belgrade atop Soviet tanks in October 1944. They have always served whichever foreign master paid them best. Fortunately, the hardworking honest farmers and merchants of Vojvodina love their Serbian nation far far more than any foreign agents could ever bribe them...

Therefore the transparently self-serving assertions of "rights" that no one ever even questioned is a primitive, provocative tactic by an isolated, decaying clique that should be totally ignored as the foreign-financed red herring that it is...

Samo sloga!

Separatism is a game that Mr. Pajtic plays when he wants to get the minority on his side, but they do not want the story. Common interest for everyone is to strengthen the country, to employ people, to deal with real problems, rather than inventing new when someone's chair is swinging.

winston

gggh, you are right on. This current government only knows to use the tactics of their mentor, Sloboban Milosevic. The spontaneous meeting in Novi Sad was a farce, as they bused in people from all over Serbia to be at that meeting. I personally saw the license plates on the buses, and very few were from Vojvodina. The opposition even gathered signatures from citizens to demand early elections, yet only about 10% of the electorate responded - and it appears that many signatures were forged. The declaration simply protects Vojvodina from the Serbian government, as laws towards the province were abused by them - like allocation of State funds, which is written in the Serbian constitution. The federal government wants complete rule over the country, but they can't have it, and that is the problem. As for these pro SNS/SPS bloggers here, yes they appear to be given something to post their junk. You should see how annoying they are on the Serbian version of B92.

ggh

pre 10 godina

And busing 30,000 toothless farm labourers and factory workers into Novi Sad to threaten directly elected officials in a farcical "spontaneous" demonstration reminiscent of Slobo tactics was aimed at easing tensions and strengthening democracy? I'd like to see Pajtic go as much as the next man but these phony popular protests only undermine the credibility of the organisers and show how politically bankrupt and devoid of ideas and vision they really are.
