Serbia’s First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić says he is convinced that Serbia will get a date for the start of the EU accession negotiations in June.

You are partially right. Serbia has to and it seams that it is willing to make trading and economic arrangements with others. But since it is in Europe, the most natural partners are European countries.
We are a partner for EU, but with a bad image which was built for years because state was lead by a bunch of thieves we have to fight for partnership. I'm not a fan of the EU and similar associations but membership is now a MUST for the sake of preserving the interests of the state and integirity of state. Croats thought that with the joining in EU would be able to go to Western countries to work, because there is a lot of poverty in their state...and the government had hoped it would be a benefit of joining the EU. But they were wrong. Germany and Austria are stopping hiring Croats. The same Germany and Austria who pushed them into madness of 90' This should be a lesson to us to know that we will only be able to get out and strengthen by building a strong economy which will be a leader in region and maybe more.
Everything comes for interest,so everything is interest and our interest is clear. We should pay particular attention to the interests of those who advocate a story about not joining the EU. We must pay attention to the fact that the interests of the West and the EU are way ahead of ours and that we will always be overridden with the intention that they storm the front their interests.In accordance with that knowledge we must perform as capable players in order to get as many as we can.
There is no real reason for not getting the date of the start of negotiations.It's just an agreement in something that has yet to be agreed. I think it is not an essentially a binding document, but for Serbia in any case, at this point more than a good sign.

Vucic is blowing it out of his butt on a daily basis, and is sing the EU song ad nauseam. How can one radical change his tune so much, even in a political career, is staggering. The man is without principle, integrity, honesty, dignity, and most of all, without respect for the citizens of Serbia, which he represents. He is the epitome of rotten politics, politics that has destroyed Serbia, and brought it to its knees. He is not the person to help Serbia stand tall again. Mr. Vucic, get out of Serbian politics once and for all, and allow the country to move forward.
