@ Room,

I remember, but most of my countrymen probably never even knew it at the time, much less remember today. Anyway, he's just looking for some undeserved credibility with the young and innocent. But it's irrelevant what people here think about him, as he's unlikely to run for any office in the US. People in Serbia might be interested in the stories he tells when he thinks he can get away with it, however.

Michael Thomas,
We should change the permamnent members???? I think we should call them something else if we are going to change them from time to time, don't you think. Maybe we could call them "whoever Michael likes today, members".

@ Amer, not sure how old you are, but at that time the "real opposition" was sent off to the front without ammunition and mowed down like pigeons. The ones that managed too escape(from both sides) ,lived like rats trying to scrape a living in the west...his story appears more like "tita-slobo-fiction".

"he used his family connections to leave and study in the west. "

He tells Americans he had to flee the country because of his opposition activity against "the regime."

San Marino is still one country like China is. One country = one vote.

You're the one who brought up population. Why should only Brazil and India get permanent seats? Indonesia, Pakistan, Nigeria and Bangladesh all have a bigger population than Russia, so surely they should get a permanent seat too by your logic?

Oh I know why! You've been watching Russia Today again. The brainwashing is working just fine with you!

Jeremic would be the Best choice for President of the Serbs. Not only is his moms family ,a Prominent moslim family from Sarajevo during Titos YU . when his fellow countrymen were killing each other .he used his family connections to leave and study in the west. And when it was time ,he became a democrat . and again ,when it was time he left to become king of the UN. I hope ,he comes back soon .we need another polititian like him with a sound, stable, sense of dignity and purpose.

Everything should be decided in the General Assembly. Each country gets one vote only, regardless if you're as big as the US and China or as small as San Marino and St Lucia. Only then would the UN would be fair and democratic. All countries should be equal!

Very democratic, Ian

30,000 San Marino Italians to be equal with 1,200,000,000 Chinese.

The UN Security Council should be reformed with Britain and France losing their status as permanent members to be replaced by a representative from the EU (most likely Germany). India and Brazil should also become permanent members.

"As one of the most successful students in the class of 2003 at the prestigious American university"

That statement is pure fabrication. He got a masters degree from John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard. However, he wasn't the most "successful". Look it up.

I love how journalists like to add information to their stories to make them sound better. Again, I'm not knocking Jeremics credentials, I'm knocking the poor journalism.

Lol wow you actually looked his grades and the rest of the 2003 class? Get a job albo, maybe get a boyfriend/girlfriend too to keep you busy instead of being pathetic and stalking Serbs and their education levels.

The UN does need to change. The Security Council needs scrapping. All countries in the UN must be equal. It is unfair that permanent members the US, Russia, UK, France and China can hold the rest of the world at ransom with their vetoes.
