German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle will start a visit to Belgrade on Sunday, with a working dinner with Serbia's First DeputyPM Aleksandar Vučić.

For once, there's at least one part of your regular verbal diarrhea with which I can disagree: Germany asks Serbia for complete capitulation,which does NOT mean to recognize Kosovo as independent, since nobody cares about that, but not to OBSTRUCT this UDI in any way.
Without that, Germany won't give a green light, neither would the UK. (Who cares about the US)
For the French, there's a constitutional obligation for a referendum for a new country to join the EU (which applies only after Croatia joining the EU) With over 60% of French being unhappy to be part of the EU, what answer do you realistically think French voters will give to whatever country would ask (be it Iceland or even Switzerland)? A BIG NO!
So except to hope for French politicians to twist legal reality again, as Sarkozy did with the negative referendum for a EU constitution (highly unlikely and extremely anti-democratic) Serbia has NO CHANCE to join!
So, it's high time for Serbia to stop the belly dance now and concentrate on SERBIA'S priorities, economical revival, development of industry, modernization and reform of Serbia's administration, close cooperation with the BRIC nations for economy, the non-aligned movement for politics, and the Shanghai initiative for defense cooperation, at the same time maintaining good economic cooperation with the EU, without ANY need to join this sinking ship of those friends of yours who try to blackmail you "for your own good"!!!
don't fool yourselves. Germany will mot put any of its demands on the backburner. Serbia has to fulfill all of it, and there will be more demands coming. Without full regognition of Kosovo Serbia will never be able to get in the EU.
Germany as a country which dealt with the burden of its past hostory will demand the same from Serbia when it comes to facing the dark side of Serbia's history. Serbia has to face its own demons, has to go through fundemental changes on how it sees its own history, and has to take responsibilty for it, show that it learned and changed before it is capable of joining the EU. With people like Nikolic in power that will be very hard to achieve.
People here in Germany have not forgotten what was done in the name Serbia all over the Balkans in the 90, and the serb diaspora here can scream and yell as much as they want and blame Germany for whatever they want, but without Germany's consent the doors to the EU will stay closed for Serbia. It is especially seen here in Germany, because contrary to Serbia we learned and reflect on what was done in our name. If you ask anybody about Serbia here in Germany, and actually anywhere in the EU, the first thing that comes to their minds is the role Serbia played in the Balkan wars, and the horrible atrocities committed in the name of Serbia. That's the reality, and it is up to Serbia to show that things have changed. If Serbia wants to move on, it has to change drasticly, and very soon.
