“If Priština obstructs talks, we will turn to UN”

If the talks on Kosovo fail because of Pristina's obstructions, other exit strategies should be considered, even returning the talks under the UN auspices.

"Thanks to a mistake made by the old government, and above all former President Boris Tadić"

And above all Vuk Jeremic actually, who decided to go to the ICJ, and who will come back to Serbia in September, join SNS or SPS and be your boss.

Whilst I am no genius, I am blessed with a reasonable level of intelligence, but for the life of me I can make neither head nor tail of what this gentleman said. I am pleased that I am not a Serbian miner!

I stopped reading the article after I read "This is according to Serbia's Natural Resources, Mining and Spatial Planning Minister Milan Bačević.

Its amazing how the most random people in Serbia have a voice on the Kosova issue? Bizarre. Who is running the show there? Next thing you know the local dog catcher is going to be behind a podium giving a press conference. What a joke.

Hopefully, for Serbia's sake this minister knows more about Natural Resources, Mining and Spatial planning than the clueless opinion of how the subject of Kosovo, EU and UN works.

Talks are over and the agreement has been signed. Implementation is required now, ASAP. There is no obstruction from Kosova side, but the problem is with Serb translators! The agreement is in English, and it seems like Serb translators are having a hard time to translate properly.

In the UN, Serbia has three options.

1. The United Nations Security Council, but Serbia will be shot down by vetoes from the US, UK and France.

2. The United Nations General Assembly, where Serbia needs a 2/3 majority vote. If Serbia can achieve this, which I doubt it can, any resolution by the General Assembly isn't legally binding unlike Security Council resolutions. You just have to ask Israel who has ignored every single UNGA resolution against it.

3. The International Court of Justice, where Serbia will need referring by the General Assembly and thus need the 2/3 majority vote. Serbia still has bad nightmares about the ICJ and Serbia chose to ignore the ICJ's advisory opinion re Kosovo.

So if Serbia wants to go to the UN, then good luck. All Serbia will achieve in the UN is some meaningless watered down non-legally-binding neutral piece of the nothing-ness which calls for peace.
