"The Serbian MFA said in a statement that Lajčak assured Mrkić that his country would not abandon its position to never recognize the so-called state of Kosovo..."

--Somehow I have a hard time believing those are the exact words Lajcak used. They sound more like the talking points of a Serb aparichick.

Before the agreement Slovakia said that they will recognise Kosovo, once the agreement is sign.
Now the agreement is sign and still Slovakia says NO.
OK lets play the same game, your 5 member block will say NO to Kosovo even after signing a POLITICAL agreement with Serbia, and our 22 member block will say NO to Serbia.Continue lose-lose game instead win-win.
Serbia said that will not block the EU and international integration of Kosovo, and in the ground is behaving differently.

Your comment is very malicious and inappropriate! Although parallels can be drawn between the status of Kosovo and Catalonia and the Basque Country, still these cases are unique in the world. Spain has some own problems, and for sure we can find reasons for rejecting the recognition of Kosovo in this fact, but Your mentioning the General Franco and Hitler in this story is completely inappropriate! However, I completely understand Spanish and Slovak statement, they have problems inside their countries, so it is not convenient that they recognize Kosovo as independent state.

This sequence of events was expected. First, Thaci wanted to pull the pressure on EU countries which have not recognized Kosovo until now, then Slovakia and Spain just confirmed they will not change their decisions, and if we are talking about Cyprus or Greece I think that their positions also remain unchanged. The situation is quite cemented.

Spain wants to maintain relations both with Belgrade and Priština in order for the two sides to agree on "trade and administrative relations" - but without crossing the red line of recognizing a unilateral declaration of independence.

The Catalans and the Basques have already started the process of seceding from Spain. Let's hope that Spain will not follow the example set by Franco when asked Hitler to bomb the Basques.Free Catalonia. Free Basques.

Soon this will be thing of a past. Serbia will ask them to recognise Kosovo, if it wants to join the EU.
From July, EU border will be with Serbia, soon to follow by Montenegro, and even Albania & Kosovo.

This backlog of reforms which Kosovo had to do in 1980, and got stopped by Serbia are coming to an end. Almost finished.

By next year this time all joined public enterprises Kosovo had with Republic of Serbia will cease to exist, and everyone for themselfs.
