What a surprise, Kerum won't be prosecuted by Croat authorities. The Croat judicial system has, and continues to drag its heels, put up hurdles and obfuscate the facts in prosecuting Croat on Serb crimes from the war of the 90s. At its current rate, it will take the Croat judicial system more than 100 years to hear the current case load of crimes committed by Croats against Serbs.

It is very apparent that Croats get a free pass when committing crimes, including ethnic cleansing, destruction of property and murder, against Serbs in the newly independent democratic state of Croatia. So it would naturally follow that a proven racist like Kerum would never be prosecuted for singing Ustasha songs glorifying the extermination of Serbs by this Nazi fascist quisling regime. When those in the highest positions in the gov't., right on down to the man on the street carry the same anti-Serb sentiment that Kerum does, it would be foolish to think that justice would ever be carried out. Croatia and the EU deserve each other.

This is why Croatia has been excepted into the E.U because it is a true democracy. Freedom of speech is everyones right. Once we start limiting to what we can say then we become more pathetic then Tito's regime. Well done to Croatia for being the only country in Europe to accept the left and right as equals.

Freedom of speach does not mean that you are allowed to sing fasist and rasist chants. I guess thats a sick croatian twisted version of freedom of speach. I hope that you will try to sing a song like that in Germany once in your life and you will see what they will do to you. You have the guts to say anything about Srebrenica? How about Jasenovac? Why dont you talk a little about Jasenovac where u slaughtered hundreds of thousands of civilians, most of them being women and children?

Typical Croats, come on this blog to defend their people. There is always excuses with Croats and it proves their character. Never once have i seen a Croat apologize for crimes against Serbs during the war in the 1990's or the acts of genocide that they committed against the Serbs in WW2.

If it wasn't for TITO, you would not have a country and you would be a minority population that is comparable to the gypsies.

It is not simply about a nationalistic song but a literally hateful one about the glorification of organized mass extermination...remain to see a condemnation of that kind of behavior coming from some honest reasonable Croat....

If anyone should be charged for singing/playing nationalistic songs it's Vuk Jeremic

He's just another typical Croat. Once they see a picture of Schicklgruber they can't help but raise their right arms, it's an innate knee jerk reaction for them.

This man is a colossal idiot, with a single digit IQ. He is one of those that exist within every sphere of society, and sometimes they get into positions of influence & power, due to a voting public that has their own incredibly poor and immoral reasons on why they vote for him. Be assured many are not happy he is *not* being pursued for charges, but I suspect this story is not over, and hopefully there will be public pressure that will be brought to bear. Oh, and yes, be surprised I authored this. :)

one second of clarity might be appropriate.

how is it that mr mayor can openly suggest that after a bloody civil war for seperation, and croatian independence, and now croatia being mere steps from joining the eu, how is it that serbs control any of their media and money. if that truly is the case, perhaps croatia isn't nearly what many make it out to be. however, i suspect he's full of sranje (as they say) and trying to deflect from real issues concerning the freedom of press and monies by suggesting to his constituency, and other croatians (whom he now clearly thinks are imbecills if he wishes to perpetuate this very contrary propoganda/conspiracy theory) that they're not free and still controlled by serbs.

I am quite sure he sang the words but naturally Croatians are not going to punish their own for doing something they all want to do anyway.

Kerum has made numerous statements in the past confirming his ustasa sympathetic views, I fail to see why he would sing a song to the melody of 'Jasenovac i Stara Gradiska' without using the actual lyrics of that disgusting song. He is a corrupt piece of filth who keeps his popularity up by making his ustasa views known, this appeases the thick masses of Hercegovina extremist Croats who have migrated in masses to Split since the end of the war and the existing ustasa Dalmatian Croats. Though I am not surprised he isn't facing prosecution, the man has as much control over Split as he needs and little stands in his way.
