No need for me to read any further because you first sentence is a lie.
There was no UN agreement to bomb Serbia so it was not the UN.
Serbia pulled the troops as a result of the bombing. What did the UN have to do with that?
(Peggy, 12 May 2013 07:12)

Serbia pulled the troops as a result of UN demanding "in particular that the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia put an immediate and verifiable end to violence and repression in Kosovo, and begin and complete verifiable phased withdrawal from Kosovo of all military, police and paramilitary forces according to a rapid timetable, with which the deployment of the international security presence in Kosovo will be synchronized"

P.S. The above is from the Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian or Spanish version of UNSCR 1244, not the Serbian one.

Peggy you are an amazing individual.
It was the UN not the US that separated you from Kosovo, as a result of the violence and terrorist actions of your beloved Milosevic.

So in order to appear civilized we should surrender Kosovo? Is that what you want?
We cannot keep Kosovo by peaceful means that much is a given. US is prepared to go to war with us if we try to take it back.
(Peggy, 11 May 2013 08:08)

Rest assured that nobody is asking you to surrender Kosovo for the simple reason that that is impossible. You can't surrender something you don't have (as you also recognize in the last sentence when you say "take it back").

Peggy you are an amazing individual.
It was the UN not the US that separated you from Kosovo, as a result of the violence and terrorist actions of your beloved Milosevic. They did the unprecedented act of making Kosovo a UN protectorate as extreme action. Never done before nor since. Serbia always had a chance to get it back but in 14 years Serbia never showed one ounce of interest in the people of Kosovo only the land. The world was watching and nothing, absolutely nothing to indicate that the scourge of Milosevic would not be the future.
So yes the US and NATO are there under the mandate of the UNSC to prevent Serbia from ever trying to retake Kosovo by force. So gaining maturity is something you need to focus on more than others.

So this Bishops behavior is not the example of evolution of man and his faith and love of Christ but the example of degradation of SPC and our holy Orthodox faith ... please do not identify us and our holy faith with this bishops, this is not an example of love and respect ... all of this was said by Bishop Nikolaj Velimirovic ... and judging by the actions of people who should be an example of brightness this looks like the sing of end of time

Peggy

pre 10 godina

To serious, you question what kind of nation do we want to be. Well, you should direct all that to the US because they do everything by force.
So in order to appear civilized we should surrender Kosovo? Is that what you want?
We cannot keep Kosovo by peaceful means that much is a given. US is prepared to go to war with us if we try to take it back. Now if that is true, who do you think looks like a savage here? The aggressor who wants to take our territory away or us who want to stop them?
With you attitude anyone should be able to march in and take someone's land and then if the victims fight back they are brutal savages.

Grow up.

Thank God that kids are not reading all those comments. So many twisted facts, that this is ridiculous. It is like those who write comments are competing who is smarter, forgetting the main issue. And regarding the protest in Belgrade, my opinion is that Serbs from Kosovo should think twice what is better for them. None what they have now, or hope that with the implementation of agreement things will be better.

Fools, come home, they don't want you.

To them you're Albanians who speak Serbian at home.
(Albanian Farmer, 10 May 2013 20:12)

Who are you to tell us what they are to us?Certainly not albanian. I bet you want them to "come home" so you can keep harass them on a daily basis and burn their churches and monesterys. Thats what you do best and thats what kind of species you are.

Daniel

SO before you all preach about "Montenegro" being traitors, your not any better and for the most part worse. BTW, Belgrade Serbs go to Croatia every summer to vacation.

Before the wars yes we went to Croatia on the summer time but now we dont so I dont know where you get that from. 99% go to either Montenegro or Greece and a veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery small number goes to Croatia, probably because they are croats living here a serb would never go to Croatia on a holiday I can assure you that.

SeriousM

pre 10 godina

Think about it, but seriously consider how you wish to be presented to the world? As what people kind of nation we want to be seen? As smart nation, nation who knows that not everything can be solved by force, or as savages who act like the only way to solve things is by brutal force? Doesnt that kind of behavior leads us for punihsment and dont we always loose with such attitude? They are watching us carefully and they just wait for a sign of disobedience to clean us permanently from this place that we love to call home. Do not be naive, because that's what they want, there is always force above us which waits to clean us like dust. Still we represent some unbowed teritory...

I missed the main protest but directed one guy from Kosovo to Sveti Sava temple. Told me he had a couple of hours before the bus back so advised him to take a trolly there.

I was shocked by the amount of rubbish left behind though, I've never seen that many crisp bags, cigarette butts, and paper etc left behind in all the protests I've ever witnessed. Luckily some street cleaners were on hand to tidy up.

one more comment. Many Srbijanci and Belgraders say where is our ally Russia? Russia, correctly wants nothing to do with the majority parties in Serbia. Aside from insulting Russia on a regular basis and licking the boots of America and the West (in typical two faced serbian fashion), the Serbs of Belgrade are eager to Join NATO. By cuddling up to NATO and betraying all Serb national interests in Kosovo, the Serbs of Belgrade think they will enter the EU and finally become.......Germans. In a matter of hours after the collaberators in Serbia sign Kosovo away-Russia and most nations in the world who have not recognized Kosovo, will do so. And in June the EU will put up further blockades to Serbias membership in NATO.

The Serbs who inhabit Serbia today are the left overs of Yugoslavia and are not worthy of one more minute of our attention-let the grobar lead them into oblivion-FREE VOIJVODINA! The people who lead Serbia today are a PILE OF HYPNOTIZED SHEEP!

Zoran,

There was a total of less than 2,000 people at the "protest", only half of them were from Kosova. However, even if all 60,000 N-Kosova Serbs showed up it would be just a tiny minority of the 7 million Serbs living in Serbia. It looked like the usual unemployment protest that is common each day in Belgrade.

I can understand what the Serbs from Kosovo are complaining about. They have legitimate reasons which the Albanians don't see.

First,Not the Serbian side or the Albanian side are totally happy about the agreement reached.

Second, the Albanians have the upper hand being they have the US and EU support.Without that support they have nothing.

Third,The Serbian side DID do the best that they could whit what they had to work with.
Where are those allies like Russia and China ?

Four,We ALL know the history about Kosovo and Serbs. The claim that Kosovo was part of Serbia even when wars were lost is true.Look what happened in 1389.600 years of Ottoman rule but Kosovo was still part of Serbia.

So what happened since 1389?

One simple thing.Back then the Serbs were 98% of the population in Kosovo. Now it is the other way around.

You Serbs have only lost a battle. The battle will and must continue, not necessarily with war,but with politics also.
It may take many years even decades god forbid centuries, but do not give up, and for god sake, STAY UNITED don't fight against each other.

Zoran

pre 10 godina

Zorane, I doubt that even 300 from North Kosovo took part of it. This was a rally in Belgrade for all Serbs, right? Or were Serbs from other parts of the Balkans forbidden to join the rally?
(John, 10 May 2013 16:29)

The spinsters are out in force. I'm not asking much, but please read the article. It clearly states that the protests are of the N.KiM Serbs. Of course everyone is welcome to join, assuming they knew about it. But who did?

I repeat, 3000 of 60,000, is significant considering they had to travel several hundreds of miles.

One grows up earlier, some later, and some never ... Of course, in accordance with the age comes the position in society... but seriously now ... would you let 5 years old kids with guns to decide about something instead you? Of course not! So why would you even listen to this bunch unadoults on the stage in the square ... They behave like a bunch of angry and rude children who do not know what to do with themselves ... Is this a kind of politics which should be leading the country? Of course not! I mean state could be led like that but where? where for sure but not forward.

Serbia's Prime Minister Dacic confessed that "Kosova is Serbia" banners are lies."

THEN WHY ARE THESE PEOPLE REPEATING THESE SICK LIES?
(azir, 10 May 2013 15:33)

Because people like to believe in lies. At least Serbian's prime minister knows it - unlike his Kosovarian counterpart who uses every opportunity to telling the lie to the public that 'Kosovo is an independent, sovereign country' instead of admitting that Kosovo is nothing but a partially recognized, disputed territory like some dozen others in the world.

The Serbs of whats left of Serbia seem to have sold out thier fellow countrymen in Kosovo. In my opinion the Kosovo Serbs need to aquire Russian passports and flee for thier lives, thier fellow Serbs will not lift a finger to help them. If Kosovo is lost, Serbia is dead. The Serbs of Belgrade and Central Serbia want that mythical life promised to them by the EU, the kind of life the Greeks now enjoy. Let them have it. When thier allies and friends in Western Europe come to demand that Voijvodina and Sandjak attain independence, we will turn our backs. The gravedigger from Kragujevac (my hometown) has come and he is burying the nation of Serbia. One day Serbia will be a part of the EU, there will be no more Serbs in Kosovo and all thats left of Serbia will be the city state of Belgrade-than the EU will give the traitors in Belgrade an award "best europeans of the year".

Zoran

Danilo, if you read the title, it is a protest of northern Kosovo Serbs. 3000 is a very good turnout considering that they had to travel several hundreds of miles and there are about 60,000 of them.

Regardless, when dictators are in power, protests are meaningless. I was at the 2 million march in London, against the Iraqi war. A lot of good that did, eh?

You know, those 3000, proportional to population, is greater than that 2 million march.

The Serbs of Strpce a couple of weeks ago turned out in large numbers to protest against the agreement. Strpce is in the south of Kosovo and thus an enclave surrounded by albanians. It gives an indication to Serb feelings in Kosovo about this agreement, that even some of the most isolated Serbs are still standing defiant. Not that you pro-EU fools in Belgrade ever gave a damn for anyone other than your own back sides, still living in this delusional state that the EU is going to make you rich. You often like to criticize those who are anti-EU but live outside of Serbia, however over the Kosovo issue you in BG doesn't really put your opinon above mine. Not to mention I in the EU know a whole deal more than you do about how it affects people, you literally have no clue about what the EU means for people yet you are happy to see Serbs in Kosovo abandoned because of your misguided hopes.

Zoran,

There was a total of less than 2,000 people at the "protest", only half of them were from Kosova. However, even if all 60,000 N-Kosova Serbs showed up it would be just a tiny minority of the 7 million Serbs living in Serbia. One day Serbia will be a part of the EU, there will be no more Serbs in Kosovo and all thats left of Serbia will be the city state of Belgrade-than the EU will give the traitors in Belgrade an award "best europeans of the year".

one more comment.

Peggy you are an amazing individual.
It was the UN not the US that separated you from Kosovo, as a result of the violence and terrorist actions of your beloved Milosevic.

No need for me to read any further because you first sentence is a lie.
There was no UN agreement to bomb Serbia so it was not the UN.
Serbia pulled the troops as a result of the bombing. What did the UN have to do with that?

Serbia pulled the troops as a result of UN demanding "in particular that the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia put an immediate and verifiable end to violence and repression in Kosovo, and begin and complete verifiable phased withdrawal from Kosovo of all military, police and paramilitary forces according to a rapid timetable, with which the deployment of the international security presence in Kosovo will be synchronized"

P.S. The above is from the Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian or Spanish version of UNSCR 1244, not the Serbian one.
