Serbians need to be part of EU, first deputy PM says

And those rules either include a centralized budget dictated by Brussels. For even a powerful country like Britain-75% of its laws are made by the EU institutions with the "EU commission" at the top which is filled with un-elected politicians who are fanatics on an extreme course to completely destroy nation-state democracy.

And this is what it's about for Vucic. To a politician, an EU commission job is like playing basketball all your life and then being drafted to the NBA. You should go on youtube and see the inflammatory ethnic nationalist rhetoric this guy and his parties used not too long ago. And yet now we have to take this guy seriously when he does a complete 180 on his ideology?

Luckily, a member of the EU will leave before Serbia ever gets to join. Ians very own UK will be that country. And the thing is quite likely to collapse like the Soviet Union did before Serbia ever gets to join. It would be the best present the West has ever given Serbs.

Not good if you are consistent and retro, it's not good when you're changing. Not good when you're hard and not good even when you're making a compromise. Not nice to defend a state guns,not even when it should be pushing the interests of the nation through smart policy. It sucks when you realize, and its even worse when you're unconscious. Until yesterday, it was no good that the man was radically oriented, today is not good as he is European oriented. The saddest thing is that our people do not know what they want, and everyone is brave until there is it need to be brave, and when it comes for it, when they are in position that someone can hear their opinion they act like a frog from cartoon. If you do not have anything clever and creative to say and do, then shut up and let people work!

I'm glad that the new government recognizes the importance of cooperation with the world powers.

Successful state is controlled by a healthy, mature and conscious policy. Successful state begins her life in the vision of one wise politician. A wise politician is first experiencing enlightenment, then he awakes the people and then with the help of conscious followers he creates new bases of a real state. The question is whether people want enlightenment or life in dreams from which awakening almost always becomes very painful. The base is formed, now it takes faith,will and desire of the people to bulid something which colud last for ever.

Our nation(Serbs) is filled with untrust... almost always and everyone think it's a wolf in sheep's clothing, the one that works for the our cause, and we always look for an hidden motive ... but should we blame? There was always a lot of "ours" who did not work in the interest of the nation and had plenty of anti-state moves... therefore we do not know how to identify the best ideas and transformations, which at the turn of Serbian statehood may be a crucial factor in recovery and stability. So please show just a little will and trust,do not judge this day for its morning. Many people blindly believed in the past 12years and before that as much. Give the state leadership at least one-third of enthusiasm and confidence that you gave to those who ran with our money in their pockets... It will be easy to change if they show no progres, just give a trust...And please be realistic in assessing their deeds

You seem like a big fan of UKIP and its leader Farage, this party is forever an opposition, take it from me, and let me reassure you that the conservatives which rule Britain now will never allow the people to vote to leave the EU, they'll either make up a huge propaganda about how catastrophic it would be for britain if it leaves the EU or not hold a referendum at all, and even if the UK leaves in 5 years, they'll probably join the EFTA. But let Britain aside, i don't see any country in europe that is that euro-sceptic, there is hardly any country in the EU thinking about leaving and there will never be one, simply because they are much better off now than before joining. Lie to me and tell me france will ever leave the EU, or Germany, or Ireland or Austria or Belgium or the netherlands or eastern europe.... and btw if the UK leaves the EU they will face deep trouble with separatists in scotland which is predominantly pro-european, and the whole UK may collapse...

I like the demagoguery that all of this was worked by DS but there was no support and they supposedly feared what would happen if they make such an avant-garde solution... well ... they want to say they were smart enough but they were not brave enough for such moves because oposition was too nationally oriented.... so as civilian(bishop) Gregory said someone would hung on Terazije for such a solution(thinking of KiM)... oh yes ... they were smart and brave more than they needed, when they could so easily steal from whole decade...and escape with full pockets bringing state to the edge of collapse ... All of this requires courage with wind between the ears ... but for what is done at this moment...takes a lot of heart and mind, which is obviously lacking for past two decades.

I'd like to say something different so my comment would not sound like a eulogy of the life and work A.Vucica, but really everything he said is absolutely grounded in the reality. Unfortunately the current state of our nation and state is exactly opposite of reality,it is the product of a life beyond time and space, and our harsh times are penalty for such a living. Let's hope the Serbian nation will finaly resurrect with political enlightenment and politicaly awaked individuals...and please let me notice that there is no greater saint to those who sinned...if I may so...

Now Alex you’re a well educated man who even went to London to study, so tell us all in plain language why does Serbia need to be part of the EU? You might also explain how a place like Slovenia managed to go from being a wealthy position to junk status in such a short period of six years.
While you’re at this you might tell us how Serbia will prosper if it does join the EU. This should be a good response, but knowing people like Alex they can’t except repeat the same material that is on the EU website i.e we will all perish if we don’t join, its going to be the end of the world, and os it goes on and on.

I didn’t know that changing your mind is a crime. What is wrong if Nikolic and Vucic realized that Serbias place is in EU? If we stick with the same opinion all the time there will be no prosperity. I believe that people can change, and I respect that as well.
