"The letter further said that the international community needs to approve legitimate solutions for Kosovo at the level of the Security Council, i.e. with a new resolution which Serbia would ratify in line with its Constitution. "

The legitimate solution in accordance with international law and UNSCR 1244 has already been achieved. Whether it is in line with Serbia's Constitution or not it is immaterial since, as North Kosovo Serbs recognize as well, UNSCR 1244 governs Kosovo, not Serbia's Constitution.

(Haitian, 9 May 2013 11:14)

Which makes them perfect Kosovo citizens, don't you think?! If they really have this attitude, they would perfectly qualify as a Kosovo prime minister!

Well, one difference: In southern Kosovo, there is no police, only KPS which is made up of drug clan members and former 'freedom fighters'. They care a lot for serious illegal activities like 'taking photographs' or 'wearing T-shirts with Cyrillic letters'. In their fight against those horrible crimes, it's only natural that they don't have enough capacity and time for fighting drug trafficking, murder, money laundry, stoning cars and other minor misdeeds.

Yes. The same goes for Pristina with its wish to be free from Serbian rule. If they would have stopped there! No, at the same time, they want to put Serbs in the North (and in the southern enclaves, too) under Albanian.. oops, I meant 'Kosovarian' rule. Unfair, indeed.
(Comm. Parrisson, 9 May 2013 11:38)

I see your point. Lets just say that if we had any decision making powers we could come into agreement in 5 min. However since you're including those in Gracanica such a deal would have to include Presheva valley. That way both our people's govern their own. No people left behind on both sides.

I doubt very much that Russia will go against its own interest by supporting a handfull of Serbs in North Kosova against Serbia ,EU and the entire world.

That less than 1/4 of 1 % of the Serb DIASPORA doesn't deserve as much attention as it seems to be getting.

Serbia must keep them in line or relocate them in SERBIA'S NATIONAL INTEREST.

Why? The criminals/ entrepreneurs/ self-isolationists/ road-blockers in North Kosova do not care about you or anyone else, they only care about themselves and maintaining their Wild West status so that they can carry on with their illegal activities without the interference of Police. The Brussels Agreement means the North will be Policed and they don't like the thought of that.

The Serbs in North Kosova don't even care about the Serbs in Southern Kosova, so don't expect the North Kosova Serbs to care about the Serbs in Serbia. They exploit the Serbs in Serbia to make them care about them. People walk straight into their trap and believe what the North Kosova Serbs want you to believe, whilst they get upto no good and you're brainwashed by this smokescreen which they have created.

What will Russia do to show the North Kosova Serbs that they "care"? Send them some more passed-the-sell-by-date goods again? What can Russia do in the security council? Nothing thanks to veto from US, England and France! LOL

The Russians can't be trusted. They sold Serbs down the river in the first place, resulting in the NATO bombing and current partition of Kosovo.

Unless there is truly something in this for Russia, there will be no help.

This is desperation of people who are fed up with your "democracy". Referendum was held in NKosovo to prove ALL Kosovo Serbs don't want to be ruled by Prishtina, not "criminal Serb element"
(aaayyy, 8 May 2013 21:14)

I'm ok with that and I can see that point. However why are they pleading Russia for Prishtina to be ruled by the Serb constitution? We have had many referendums where we show clearly what we think about the Serbian state and its constitution. So why should the Serb constitution apply to us but our constitution not apply to them? Why are they pleading others to support them in this endeavor which is inherently unfair. They want to be free for themselves but they want others to be enslaved under the Serb rule? Where is the fairness in that?

If they had stopped at: " we want to be free from Prishtina" then even as someone from the opposite side I could totally see their point. However they take it to the extreme: "we want to be free from Prishtina but we want the UN to enforce Belgrade's rule in Kosova." No sympathy for them whatsoever. They deserve everything they're wishing onto others.

Not quite so, Russia has said for 5 years they will accept any agreement that Belgrade makes, not north Mitrovica. The north Serbs are about to find out how on their own they really are as Russia is not going to support the north Kosovo Serbs against the Serbian govt. Does anyone think that Serbia made this agreement without Russia's blessing?

Paul

With the latest news, it looks like this might have been a bad move. Russia is already got a full plate with Syria, it doesn't need the Serbs pulling its sleeve right at the moment. And appealing to a foreign power to assist in internal political matters is always going to sound weak. If they wanted Russia to assist at the UN, there is no need to have mentioned the current government in Belgrade.
