Greens criticize MPs, warn about "GMO blackmail"

The Greens of Serbia protested after MPs refused to include the Declaration on GMO-Free Serbia into the agenda of the parliament session on Wednesday.

Serbia has always had great agriculture and one that can be admired across the globe. You already have depleted uranium deposits scattered around Serbia from the war making people sick. Do you really need food from GMO seeds? It's no secret that all natural foods are the best. In North America, there are grocery stores that charge a premium for food that is non-GMO and organically grown. People are paying as much as they can afford for this food. Serbia already has it! Don't lose it because of anything or anyone! This is one topic that all countries in the Balkans should agree on and implement. NO GMO!

More and more studies prove that GMO have health risks for people and animals and pose threats to the environment and biodiversity. GMO do not deliver the harvest promised, lead to increased use of pesticides and make farmers financial slaves of biotech companies. GMO are only good for mega profits of biotech companies.
