it's ok, Peggy. I guess I'll just stay stupid and keep hiding behind facts.

Looking forward to that DSS landslide victory next elections.

"Koštunica said that negotiations lasted two years at the time"

and there are still people ranting that they cannot recognize Kosova as the solution was not found through negotiations and they cannot accept unilateral deceleration of independence...

2 bloody years of negotiation with def and arrogant man...

ha ha. There's no end to the mental gymnastics that hobby-Serbs will go through to convince themselves that Serbia is REALLY like they think it is.

Even evidence to the contrary is interpreted in a way that suits.

DSS got 10% in 2008 and 7% in 2012?

I point that out and you say, "I'm hiding" behind facts and I'll see next time.

LOL!!!!

His "hands were tied" by the fact that hardly anyone voted for him, this election or the last one.

Don't hide behind the fact that people voted for the current sellouts. Had they known what these bastards were about to do a lot less would've voted for them and a lot more for Kostunica.
Let's see how they go at the next election. Now that will be a true test of how Serbs feel about the current situation.
People vote according to the facts presented to them at the time. You can't blame the people for a bad choice when that choice was made on lies and misinformation.
Enough people voted for our current government in Australia but they vill be smashed at the next election because they lied big.
It happens everywhere and a government doesn't always represent the will of the people. You are a big boy, you know this so why keep beating a dead horse?

Peggy,

I agree with you, but when have the leaders of Serbia ever told the truth to their people. That is why no one takes the Serbs seriously and why they are the laughing stalk of the free world. Usually a people get the leaders they deserve. You are a big girl and should know better than to blame others.

EU is a highest point of interest for Serbia right now and any of our problems can only be solved trough EU. Whether problems we have were financial or territorial EU is must for Serbia at this moment. Statements like this can only take some part of public on detour which only delays solving our biggest problems.

"Party leader and former Serbian PM Vojislav Koštunica hosted a reception in Belgrade, and commented on the recently initialed agreement between Belgrade and Priština by saying that it was in Serbia's interest for the deal to fall through."

Not sure how the deal is not in Serbia's interest since true Serb patriots like Ari Gold have already ruled that it is a win for Serbia.... But anyway, it is great for Kosovo, as well, if the deal falls through since it will ensure that Serbia does not join the EU and cause trouble for Kosovo. Serbia not joining the EU is probably the only thing where Vojislav and Kosovo agree, even though for different reasons.

He's right. But is there any real chance of success for this agreement? Does anyone really believe that the agreement has any substance at all? If the agreement is real, then Serbia must get something out of it? And we can't see that they get anything at all. They signed something and that should have meant they got a date for accession discussions and they didn't even get that? All they got is a deadline in June for somebody, not Serbs, to decide that the "agreement" has been implemented. And at that date, that is when they are supposed to get a date for discussion. And if you believe that, you must also believe in UFOs and the economic vitality of the EU.

Just for information

"It is in our interest for the Brussels agreement to fail," Koštunica stressed, and added that the DSS warned against the initialing and signing of the deal, while the current phase was its implementation - "and it is in our interest that it is not implemented."

'Our interest' = interest of the DSS

I respect Kostunica, and I despise the deal, but he is asking to much of the Kosovo Serbs to uphold the Serbian Constitution when their own government wont. They have been through far to much, and have been betrayed, no one has any right to ask them to do more than they already have. We can only wish them the best.

The best thing for them is to make whatever deal they can with whomever shows them good will because their is absolutely no one in Belgrade, Pristina, or Brussels that will protect them, and it is time for them to look out for their own interests.

Koštunica is humble and had his hands tied behind his back by the DS and now SNS. However, he is the right man and has always stood behind Serbia and its sovereignty. Now lets see those DS, LDP and SNS lovers spit at him.

"Precisely during these great (holiday) days our government has moved to wholeheartedly hand over Kosovo and Metohija to the fake and self-proclaimed state of Kosovo, and in doing that drag Serbia into a crisis the results of which are impossible to predict," he told reporters.

I Comment -

The result will be a Civil War in Serbia !.
