Taliban are fighting guerrilla warfare of hit and run which does not require great weaponry. Assad is playing a game, as they all do, where he can now declare Saudi Arabia and Israel working together against Syria and this does into go well amongst the Arabs at all especially when the Arab League, which is very pro-western, coming out and critizing Israel. Assad is not stupid. This bombing of a hilltop is only to provoke Syria. Even the chemical weapons use has become unclear where Carla del Ponte stated that her group has evidence that Syrian rebels have used it and tried to blame Assad.

Its all part of playing part of being a victim as Israel is now days is seen as the school yard bully like its mentor the US. Wait for the big show and see whether Russian equipment is inferior. Remember that US military is well aware of what these anti aircraft systems can do as they have seen them used.

Both Iraq and Afghanistan were defenceless so going in was not a problem. So where is that superior weaponry mate? Why not try it on say China or the Russians as you see western technology so far advanced - well what are they waiting for? China recently kicked the US out of the South China Sea and is standing over Japan with no adverse affects from that superior technology.

I know Assad has lost thousands no millions so far, but I find it so amusing when there is “evidence” of Assad using chemical weapons the United States of Wind Bags has lived up to its name Piss and Wind, particularly when Obama said that Chemical weapons was the red line, hmmm?

Surely the Russian equipment is inferior to western technology, why not live up to something at least instead of Piss and Wind.

Yes it speaks volumes.

Then why has not the west used those superior weapons in Iraq or Afghanistan? For your information the IDF did not hit the anti aircraft batteries but missiles traversing Syria and going to Lebanon. The reason they attached the military compound was because Israeli intelligence thought the Syrians were hiding chemical weapons there.
Here is some information for you. You don’t put your anti air missiles on top of a hill.

So basically what you are saying that the Talibans with their assault rifles and man pads are more successful than Syrians with their new Pantsir anti aircraft weapons from Russia? Well, from that perspective you might be right. Still, I would have expected from all the Russian bragging that their junk might be worth something. Apparently, we all over-estimated it.

What a stupid question. They did and the conventional armies were destroyed within weeks. What you are referring is the asymmetric warfare where superior weapons not necessarily lead to success (though the losses of Talibans are massive, but they don't care to lose ten thousand fighters, while each dead on the Western side cause a lot of debate).

Bottom line is that Syria's army is not asymmetrically fighting, but is a standard army which apparently has no means to stop Israeli attacks despite having newest AA batteries from Russia. In the meantime we got information that Assad lost during those raids more than 100 elite soldiers from the Republican Guard. If they can't protect their best men in the capital city, where the air defense net is most dense, then it speaks volumes about the defense capabilities and the technology they use. Simple as that, or short: Western technologies dominates.

The US and Israel are friends of convenience, they use each other for their own purposes.

The timing of this bombing is not coincidental, in my opinion. Obama initially said chemical weapon use would be a game-changer. He now back-paddles about taking action when it is reported that chemical weapons are in use in Syria.

We all know that the US was instrumental in using the Croatians to funnel weapons to the Syrian rebels.

A few days after Obama back-paddles, Israel bombs Syria. The timing is not coincidental. The US and Israel have no friends, just interests.

Everyone should be angry at Israel and the American Jewish Lobby for instigating these wars and for causing instability in the Middle East. Who cares if Israel has superior fire power than Syria? Of course Israel has the best weapons, since they use American tax payer money to fund their acts of aggression, and since they can easily muster up US forces to do their dirty work for them. The US is just a proxy country to serve the interests of Israel and Jews.

Hey John, is that actually your real first name? You sound as if a more befitting name for you might be Saul, or David, or Eli, or Larry.

Looks like Assad can trash his newest Russian-made Pantsir-S1 Anti-Aircraft batteries. 3 times within a few months, the IDF air force attacked Syrian positions and the Syrians did not even a have chance to fire back. A clear sign which technology is superior. Putin angry...LOL!
