Serbian politicians = LIARS!
(george, 25 April 2013 01:01)
That makes them good politicians. If I put the joke aside, I cannot see why they are liars. So far they did so much for Serbia, and in such short time.

Villy

Agreement does not mean recognition of Kosovo and it is important to make it clear to those counties who did not recognize Kosovo.

bad neighbour can make your life hell. this gives paranoia a new meaning, Serbs are so scared they think Bella kugla is the new kalemegdan. they like their neighbours to be Serbs. how racist is that!

Ermal, how do you know Serbia hasn't been paying piss poor African states not to recognise Kosova? Have we been paying Japan do you think Comm.?

"Of course, it is Serbia's right to try to convince other states that Kosovo is not a state. But certainly the other states don't take orders from Serbia about their sovereign decisions and about 100 of them have choosen to consider Kosovo a state, regardless of what Serbia thinks."
(icj1, 25 April 2013 05:31)

Yes, like some African kingdoms and tropical island states took money from Pacolli for making their 'sovereign decision' to consider Kosovo a state, while some dozen other states have chosen not to consider Kosovo a state, regardless what Thaci and this mates in Pristina think.

Wikipedia has nothing official for anything. As for the opinion part, I have a different opinion than yours about Serbia's statehood. As a result, I guess we agree that Serbia is also "disputed territory".
(icj1, 25 April 2013 05:42)

What do you consider 'official'? The opinion of the Kosovo government that Kosovo is a state? Or, unlikely, the one of the Serbian government that Kosovo is a Serbian province?

What I wanted to say: There are different opinions, and there's no official definition for a sovereign state. There are some criteria like UN membership(not the case for Kosovo), diplomatic recognitions by other countries(about 50% recognized Kosovo) and some others.

And sorry, you cannot convince me that Kosovo is a state like 193 others in the world including Serbia. But if it makes you happy, you can believe that 'Kosovo is an independent, sovereign state' - it's your opinion, but universally shared by the majority in the world, just like some people (including a lot of Serbs) believe in the 'lunar landing hoax'.

Maybe we can agree that Kosovo is a state with limited recognition?

I completely agree this guy is mental. Serbia with the recent agreement said that there is only one government in kosova and that is the independent kosova government. Serbia has no role in kosova and demands all the serbs stop acting like they are in Serbia. Serbia says kosova can be in the EU and will not block the EU path when UN can be part of the UN path. EU is for independent countries. With Serbia becoming very strident in its recognition of kosova indepdnence why should anyone oppose it?

Kosovo is not a state. So other states should not recognize illegal Kosovo independence. It is Serbia's right to try to make others not recognize Kosovo.
(Ron, 24 April 2013 23:24)

It means: There are different opinions on the statehood of Kosovo, and that's why Kosovo is officially listed as a 'disputed territory' (check Wikipedia, for example), together with Taiwan, Northern Cyprus, South Ossetia and several other self-proclaimed states.

Have you notice that Presidential advisor is in charge of telling the diplomatic representatives. Not Prime Minister and not President.
Any how the room would have been kind of half since there are only 94 or 95 countries out of 193 that did not recognise Kosovo.

Furthermore, by doing so Serbia is violating the recent agreement by attempting to block Kosova from joining the EU. Since, to become a member of the EU, a country must first be a member of the UN. Therefore, by encouraging other countries not to recognize Kosova, Serbia is, deliberately, attempting to block Kosova from joining the EU.
(The Count of Kosova, 24 April 2013 20:11)

Nope. Serbia is not violating this.
Kosovo is not a state. So other states should not recognize illegal Kosovo independence. It is Serbia's right to try to make others not recognize Kosovo. Like it is Georgia's right to work on other countries not recognizing Ossetia.

This deal says nothing about recognizing Kosovo or UN membership for Kosovo.
More: it is very important Kosovo will not get an UN membership!

The Count of Kosova

pre 11 godina

"Presidential advisor Marko Đurić, has urged the diplomatic representatives of the countries that have not recognized Kosovo not to change their stance."

I don't understand. According to Belgrade, Kosovo is not an independent state, therefore there isn't anything to recognise supposedly. So why would he urge countries not to recognise Kosovo if Kosovo is apparently not an independent state? What is he urging countries not to recognise Kosovo as?

And didn't Serbia supposedly annul all the recognitions of Kosovo, whatever that means.

Well, simple, according to Pristina, Kosovo is an independent state. It means: There are different opinions on the statehood of Kosovo, and that's why Kosovo is officially listed as a 'disputed territory' (check Wikipedia, for example), together with Taiwan, Northern Cyprus, South Ossetia and several other self-proclaimed states.
