"According to Samardžić, the proposal also brings into question other legal guarantees of Serbia's sovereignty in Kosovo, such as UN Security Council Resolution 1244."

I'm perplexed... Kosovo's declaration of independence is in accordance with UNSCR 1244 and, on the same time, UNSCR 1244 provides legal guarantees of Serbia's sovereignty in Kosovo?! The only way that could happen is that the former is referring to the Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish versions whereas the latter is referring to the Serbian version.

The other thing I'm perplexed is about Serbia vehemently denouncing UNSCR 1244 as requesting in all practical terms that Serbia renounce a part of its sovereign territory and opening up the possibility of the secession of Kosovo and Metohija from Serbia. As a result Serbia considered the UNSCR 1244 as one of the darkest pages of UNSC's history being instrumental in a de facto dismemberment of a sovereign European State. Now, if Serbia wants to define all of the above as "legal guarantees of Serbia's sovereignty in Kosovo", I'm sure Kosovo has no opposition to that. It's just a matter of clarifying definitions, and Serbia and Kosovo can always reach an agreement.

Sorry, DSS, Serbia is all out of referendums for the year. You will have to wait till next year, when Vojvodina possibly asks for one regarding its own independence. One can dream, no?
