Of course there is, but I am glad that the new government (or a part of it) is ready to back up a little and reconsider its stands in order to provide for more secure and easy-going future for its citizens! (Progressives) You have my vote, that's for sure!

"Countries don't take more than 5 years to join the UN." My comment was in reference to this sentence of yours. And the UN or any body is not telling Kosovo/a you can or can not join. They have a rule book that states clearly what the prerequisites are for joining the organization called the UN.

Has Kosovo/a got a 2/3 majority yet? Answer NO! Will it get it one day? To be determined (TBD). Then it can be put to a vote.

There are many "countries" in the world that are not recognized by other countries. Doesn't mean that they are not a country. Just as Switzerland has been a country for 722 years and the UN is 68 years old. So Switzerland has only been a member for 11 years.

So my question based on your comment what was Switzerland for 57 years since it was not part of the UN? Based on your definition it was not a country, so what was it?

The line Serbia must not cross is to start another military campaign against Albanians. It is thankfully becoming clear that despite all the craziness that still remains, the majority of Serbs are giving up the idea of exterminating or somehow subduing Albanians. Which is good for everybody.

What needs to happen next is this: we Albanians need to start believing Serbs when they say that war is no longer a threat. Realistically, the threat of a war from Serbia is no greater than the threat of a war from Greece at this point. Time to relax just a little bit and try to put the whole thing behind us.

T, you are right on. Nikolic is an hag radical from te past, still living in some dream Serbian state that he and like him have conccted in their nationalistic brains. I pay little attention to what he says, and most citizens with a brain in Serbia do no eiher. He is a fossil, that because of unfortunate circumstances was finally able to com to power. But, i will be short lived, because he has zero to offer but nationalistic mumbo jumbo that the peasant population laps up. He will be long gone before his mandate is up.

Ari Gold,
I don't like Nikolic because he is a relic of the past, he can't think outside the box, he is a muppet of the church and never ever comes up with a solution. All he does and has done is criticize others, goes on hunger strike when things don't suit him and talks in riddles. He shakes hands with dictators and shuns the west and to date has done nothing that has brought Serbia one step forward.
Maybe Serbia does not need the EU but it is no Switzerland either and has no chance of becoming one unless it rids itself of these banana republic style politics and unshackles itself of the past.
What Serbia needs is a president that is forward thinking, progressive and inspiring. Sorry mate but I just can't see these qualities in Nikolic. He is a waste of space.

Serbia is not Switzerland correct. But the point of all that was as long as Serbia focuses on itself and creating the best possible space for domestic entrepreneurship as well as foreign investment, it will succeed. And none of those things involve handshakes with terrorists, capitulation, autonomy for northern Serbia, LGBT pride parades or any other nonsense the EU wants us to do.

He doesn't get it. Kosovo is already no longer a part of Serbia. It is gone. So he can sit there and speak for himself by not recognizing its independence but by doing so he will only delay the inevitable.
(T, 17 April 2013 12:59)

It is no longer controlled by Serbia, but Serbia can very easily interpret it as a temporary occupation. What Kosovo i Metohija surely is not is a country. Countries don't take more than 5 years to join the UN. Countries don't beg others to recognize them and give them money to do so. Countries don't depend on international alliances for humanitarian donations.

I don't see why you don't like Nikolic. He is extremely moderate in this respect. Serbia could very easily close these negotiations, keep Kosovo i Metohija in a frozen conflict and eventually all Albanians who can find a better life outside of the territory would leave.

It would mean not joining the EU, but who the hell cares? Switzerland is not a part of the EU either. Is Serbia Switzerland? No. But the point of that is as long as you create conditions for investment then you will be fine. And none of those conditions are shaking hands with terrorists and organ extractors in Brussels.
