@Nikolle: Albanians are the best (strongest, most hardworking) manual workers I had opportunity to work with. In old days they would come every morning around Vuk Karadzic in Belgrade monument to get a day work (Vukovci). The pay was very good and a lot of them made nice living for their families. I look foward for them coming back.

You have been writing this for a while sj, yet you've never shown any evidence for it. What sane rational person goes to work in Serbia for an average wage of 350 EUROs? That's the same as in Kosova. So, please do show me where it is that you've read about this stream of Albanians heading of to Serbia to work. I certainly have NEVER read anything of the like. Quote me a source sj so I can educate myself.

P.s. we've been through the other stuff before, no point to repeat myself.

(Nikolle, 18 April 2013 16:14)

As I have shown many times before when asked to show how Kosovo will survive, NOT ONE Albanian is able to explain it rationally. Earlier you said that Kosovo will never be Dubai, but it can survive; if that is the case then why are all your young people leaving paradise? Why is the Serbian police constantly returning your youth from the rest of Serbia? Why are your youth trying to pass themselves off as Serbs when looking for work in Kragujevac????? Imagine working with people that killed theirs????

Now I’ll ask the question once more. Please tell me how is Kosovo going to function as a state, where is the income stream coming from? Do you think there will be any industry and what kind?
I don’t need you to post my statements as I have not waivered for one moment in what I have said.
I await your version of a future Kosovo.

@edi: Dear Edi, you are effectively telling me that you have never lived (even visited) Kosovo at any time, but, anyway, you are going to tell me how it was to live there in 1945-1980 period. It is like me explaining to you how it is to live in Oxford.

edi

Krevazi baku it seems to me that now u are talking nonsense! I never said i did live in Kosovo! and i am not from kosovo! But i did respond to you question! NOw let me say to u which time was the mos progressiveness time! The present time! ok! Apart from that was from was in 19 century during prizren leage! ok! therefore dont come and try to say things which for sure i know quiet well! That time was peaceful in surface but inside was different! anyway pointless to go to more details!

Krezavi Baki

pre 11 godina

@edi: Dear Edi, based on your response I am confident that you have never lived in Kosovo in period 1945-1980. To say that this was the best time for Albanians in their history is understatement. They prospered as never before and never since. I know that as I lived it and anybody who says any differently has not got a clue what he is talking about. During that time everything the first happen (university, education, sport, first Albanian woman to graduate, to do PhD etc.; all parameters of society were hugely improved). I am telling you this just because it is the truth and it seems that there is in you enough honesty to be able to think about it.

Not one of those things happened under Serbia, all under Yugoslavia. i know that some here confuse the two, but there is a big difference. want an example? Slovenes and Croats both opposed the removal of Kosova's autonomy, Sloba called them both traitors. Now, look at Kosova when it was under direct serbian control 1989-1999, no economy, no development, poor human rights records. Yugoslavia is dead and i for one have no nostalgia for it

sj

:-) we have been over that before sj. i see no reason to repeat myself here. but its you who 'educates' us on what is really being discussed. so tell me, what documents will those K. Albanians seeking work in Serbia be presenting to potential employers? go ahead, i'm at your mercy.

The purpose of these talks was to accept Kosovo as independent and once that is done Pristina can issue their papers which Belgrade would have to honour as valid.

pre 11 godina

Krevaza baki! i doesn't matter what i do! But let me get to you question! Kosovo never existed before 1945 as a administration province! It was created than cause the hidden negotiation to give that part to Albania dint work due to the broken relations in 1949-1950! Therefore it become a province not cause Slavic people wanted that but cause the policy of anti nationalism was the base of Yugoslav communist system! to say that Kosovo did progress during Tito times is a weak analyses! Tito had a plan to send Albanians in turkey and a pact was done despite the fact that was not implemented fully! But this hidden agenda did continue with Albanians going in the west and not returning! In the begging the communists helped especially from Enver Hoxha did kill all the Kosovo Albanian elite! So when u kill the elite there is not much emancipation to bee archived! But in 1974 a sort of light did come to accept autonomy despite the fact that was a sort of controlled autonomy cause the province should have had the republic status due to high population! But yes during tito era the regime was not as harsh as Milosevic era! But my opinion is different to this! And that is that Yugoslavia collapsed because tito did give a form of fakeisem to Yugoslavia and not realism! So i cant call fake era a progressiveness era ! sorry to disappointing you but that is a intelligent analyses! Therefore the answer to your question is: not it was not!thx

From your postings there seems to be a lot of things you are not aware in life. However let’s put that aside and I ask that you tell me how will Kosovo survive on its own “two feet”?
I am interested to hear your version of how Kosovo is going to thrive?

Krezavi Baki

pre 11 godina

@edi: Dear Edi, thank you for your response. I hope that you enjoy Oxford. You can tell me about your life there. Are you a Professor, a student or nothing to do with the University? Regarding Kosovo, would you agree with me that a period 1945-1980 (when Kosovo was part of RS and SFRJ) was a period of fastest cultural and economical development in the history of Kosovo Albanians?

pss

pre 11 godina

sj,
After all the words and a thousand directions the answer is there is no way Serbia could financially survive having Kosovo to return, right? And Kosovo would be worse off in Serbia than alone even if abandoned by everyone.

edi

pre 11 godina

Krevazi baki! I am not from Kosovo! Therefore i cant say how life is there but i know is like most of Balkan Countries! Poor quality and weak mentality! I live in oxford ! And yes i am Albanian national but not Muslim like most of Serbs try to portray us and not naive or single minded like most Serbs or Balkan people are! Very well informed on the Balkan history and trust me i know what is a lie or what is not! Let me get short on this one! On the Serbian Kosovo issue Serbia is an has been always wrong! Anyhow Serbia has been so wrong for so long that they now should not even have the right to speak! the should learn from Germany and just say sorry and recognized Kosovo straight away! And that i will call progress! I don't speak the language of puzzle like u do! But i speak the realistic point of view! And after Serbia does that they should start a program of clearing up the historical manipulation that the Serb population has been feed for so long! Also compensation for their actions is needed! And trust me Serbia cant play dirty anymore! never ever! To Albanians in Kosovo i say this! This negotiation are not needed! Serbia has not evolved yet! and they cant go on Europe on your expense!I think that u should stay strong and focus on economy and when u do that will lead to become part of us! Mean Albania! and than u will go in Europe will us! Cause you are us! Despite that u are portray as Muslim u still are us! and we have the right to be one!Serbs have not evolved yet!

oh no no, i am aware of your belief that Serbia is the Germnay of the Balkans, or iof not that, of all former ex Yugosalv entities. however, how would those K. Albanians wrok in Serbia? which documentation would they have to use? Serbian passports? Serbian social security numbers? serbian national insurance numbers? or would they work with Kosovar documentations? you really haven't thought this through have you? please, stick to doing what it is you do best, which I'm not really sure what it is. oh yes, fictional economics! thats the thing.

By saying “no” to the first offer Serbia showed self respect, and that is a quality which Pristina does not posses.
(Christine X., 17 April 2013 22:33)

Christine X,

Serbia lost all self respect twenty years ago when it went on a rampage of murder and rape of women, children, the elderly and the sick. Serbia will have to wait several generations to regain any respect from civilized nations.

Now wash your ears out and listen carefully. I’m getting so tired spelling it out for people like you. In any business there are facts circulating that are not common knowledge in public regardless whether you work for GM or in a hospital or a dentist or a supermarket or a stockbroker.

The EU is NOT GOING TO ALLOW ALBANIANS from Kosovo to move around the EU looking for work because they already have too many people doing that in a very tight labour market. Is it sinking in now?

Of all the Balkan states Serbia has the greatest potential to rise from the ashes. It has every resource needed to do so. Kosovo has nothing that would sustain a population of 2 million – these are facts not Narnia economics, but if you see Kosovo doing better than Serbia please outline for me as I am interested to read real economics.

Hahaha... Thaci must have read my previous post about him not having any documents in front of him. In this updated photo I can see one sheet of paper and a BIC pen. Thaci's PR department must have displayed those items for him so that he would look somewhat intelligent in this photo opportunity.

Guess what? It didn't work, as he is still sporting a goofy look on his face. It kind of looks as though he has stumbled upon a math equation and for the life of him he will never be able to figure it out.

Staff

pre 11 godina

Thaci needs to understand that,KOSOVO has no power to negotiate. The negotiations are between Serbia,EU,USA.
(George, 17 April 2013 21:24)

George, you are so right. Everyone understands this in the whole world except the Albanians.
Serbia has ALL to gain from this and they are doing just fine. Does anyone really believe that Kosovo will come in to the EU in 50 years, 100 years ?? First of all, every EU country must recognize Kosovo and this will not happen. Secondly, every country must confirm it. Third, there is at least 20-25 years of criminality and corruption to deal with for the EU police.

I believe the odds are quite bad.
What I also believe is bad is that the EU and also US are sticking carrots to the Albanians that they are in good hands and that Kosovo will eventually come in to the EU. I believe this is foul play and not fair to promise something that is impossible. I know that the US could not care less for the K Albanians. They want their base and that is fine with me. But its not fine to fool.

Olli

pre 11 godina

In these days of advanced communication systems available it's rather stupid that Kosovo's and Serbia's negotiators must drag their bottoms to Brussels to say "no thank you". Particularly I find it harming the Serbian side. I wonder on which premises Serbs decided to get on plane to Brussels? That they will be offered something better than last time? Did they ask at all "what would it then be, and what's Kosovo's attitude on it?" If you tramp over and over again somewhere to give your no thank yous you simply look foolish, weaken your position and ridicule the whole process. All major questions, the toughest matters can be settled or left unsettled before negotiation teams travel anywhere, or just stay home.

Another issue now. This is what Noel Malcolm says about Kosovo: "Kosovo was not incorporated into the Serbian kingdom in 1912; it remained occupied territory until some time after 1918. Then, finally, it was incorporated, not into a Serbian state, but into a Yugoslav one. And with one big interruption (the second world war) it remained part of some sort of Yugoslav state until June 2006."

I do contest that quite intentionally misleading view. Malcolm should know that Kosovo was incorporated to Kingdom of Serbia in 1913, and that also post WW2 Yugoslav constitution says Kosovo is part of Serbia. Well, more about that later, if needed.

Toza Komatoza

I have just heard that Hasim Taci, if agreement is not reached, plans fully integration of Kosovo into Serbia. This would allow Kosovo to get more funds, and it would propel him personally into very strong position to become Prime Minister of Serbia. Dacic is panicking.

Krevazi baku! I don't like to play cat and mouse in this type of sarcastic Balkan mentality that u using! Let me en light you just one time! the monastery's in Kosovo are not the monastery's that did create serbia in-contrarily they are monasteries done during Serbian era for the perpuse of expansion as a kingdom! The monasteries are financed from the Serbian kingdom but they were the work of mainly Greek artists (allso others) witch did escape from Constantinople and did found refuge in Serbian kingdom! There the left their art and their skills to build those wonderful monasteries which did not have a Serbian role but a role for all people including Albanians or Thracian or Greeks! The Gracanica monastery was the culmination of such byzantine art and to say that it was just Serbian is worse than saying that the chicken come before the egg! Even worse creating puzzles that are not for intelligent people but for naive and especially primitive Balkan nationalist people which are served with such big lies for such a long time! The answer to your dirty question is simple! That monastery is the work of art and not nationalistic therefore it is not a Serb or Albanian is religion art and cant be used to define borders! thx

Noel Malcolm is fluent in Serbo-Croatian as well as several other languages. He, in fact, did read original sources of Serb historians. Remember, original Serb sources exist at many major libraries throughout the world. Your opinion hardly matters, Harvard University thought Malcolm was qualified as an historian since he spent a year teaching there. I suggest you read his work on the history of Kosovo, you may actually learn something.

Some call it blackmail some call it a solution.

In the end Serbia will have a choice. They can either begin to move forward like every country in the region that is surpassing them or continue to be the black hole of the Balkans where life is so bad that you have a negative birth rate and population decline as well as citizens fleeing to the West for a better life. Or you can remain drunk on Alcohol(Highest alcoholism in Europe and children between 11 and 13 drink twice as much as their peers in Europe) and continue to see your country crumble from within socially, economically and spiritually.

Regarding Kosova, they will be ok. Kosovars are the best friends the West especially the USA can have. USA will not abandon a friend like that. USA isn't Russia where they only give words and nothing else. USA provided cruise missile strikes!! haha

True, Serbia is in an economic mess, but so is the EU with several of its members in the same shape.
Kosovo is 100% EU funded. The EU relief from this burden and wants Belgrade to recognise Kosovo and then allow the Albanians from Kosovo to look for work in Serbia – The EU will not permit the Kosovo Albanians to move around the EU looking for work and that is a fact. Now if that is going to happen then joining with Serbia is of little consequence.
My God man, the west is barely swimming with its head barely above water and you talk about aid as if this is 1970. Western aid is more bravado and BS than actual fact. The west can barely look a fter itself let alone throw around borrowed money.
“.....100% of the funds, in Serbia it would get the crumbs left over after Serbia siphoned off a huge part. So either way the funding is going to come from EU/US...”.

Don’t you get it? Kosovo is getting 100% of nothing. It’s the ruling elite not the people that get the money in Kosovo. The EU did not bail out Cyprus because the cash has run out – remember that Cyprus is a member of the EU and it’s not Russia’s job to bail it out. Next in crises is Slovenia – think about it.
“Just plain and simple what advantage is there for Kosovo to return to Serbia”

AS I said the plan is to allow Albanians to work in Serbia so if that is correct then your no worse off if you join with Serbia. Kosovo is unsustainable on its own.

Please go to spin school and then try to post something that makes sense."
How come you have never answered my question of How is Serbia going to financially survive with Kosovo as part of it? Serbia is circling the drain and financially in far worse shape than EU or US.Kosovo whether in Serbia or alone is going to require a lot of aid from the west. The difference independently it will get 100% of the funds, in Serbia it would get the crumbs left over after Serbia siphoned off a huge part. So either way the funding is going to come from EU/US, now you with all the answers tell us a reason Kosovo should about face and return to Serbia.
We know you do not need to go to spin school as you already have a masters in it.
Try, though I know you will not be able to, to answer the question without clouding the answer with unemployment in the US or the next EU country ready to go under or Afghanistan etc, etc, etc. Just plain and simple what advantage is there for Kosovo to return to Serbia??

Tactics were to blackmail Serbia with EU future and make enormous pressure on Serbian side to fall down and sell all for nothing. Fortunately our negotiators didn fell on that, so we continue diferent way. What I am afraid of, is that last round was only decoy for this round. In last round they gave us nothing to choose.

Thaci didn't leave the meeting, he, like the Serbs, are there to reach and agreement, that is their assignment. Why else would they be back in Brussels, when things were so gloomy last week. This is all diplomatic theater, and the actors must play their parts. An agreement will be reached. The West has had enough of this nonsense. Besides, the BG government is slowly moving its attention towards Vojvodina, and a new stage is being set up.

Noel Malcolm is fluent in Serbo-Croatian as well as several other languages. He, in fact, did read original sources of Serb historians.

From the wars of Milosevic to the Tito era! Negotiation can be successful only if Serbia does change all its history and replace that with true documented historical facts!

USA provided cruise missile strikes!! haha

"How is Kosovo going to pull ahead of Serbia when it has nothing? Is this a Kosovo on Mars?
Just plain and simple what advantage is there for Kosovo to return to Serbia??

sj

pre 11 godina

(pss, 17 April 2013 15:05)

Things are as they suppose to be not as Ashton and Taci hoped to. Or not? Tactics were to blackmail Serbia with EU future and make enormous pressure on Serbian side to fall down and sell all for nothing. Fortunately our negotiators didn fell on that, so we continue diferent way. What I am afraid of, is that last round was only decoy for this round. In last round they gave us nothing to choose. That way they have formed position for this round in which they will offer their final solution and that is Ahtisari plan that we rejected in the past. So we still stand on double nothing but now we have some better nothing to choose. All rounds were just a game to come to this, now we must carefuly make decisions and form a big selling prices for our belongings...after all we must continue to work in a direction of bringing things back on their right basics

Well, more about that later, if needed.

oh no no, i am aware of your belief that Serbia is the Germnay of the Balkans, or iof not that, of all former ex Yugosalv entities. however, how would those K.

Vlora Citaku said in Tweeter that Serbia is going to say NO again!
Hajredin Kuci says Kosovo side is for Yes on Ashton draft agreement.

Well she is not an official source + she already tweeted before that it seems serbia will accept the agreement this time, and if you look at the article it had just been updated, and now they are taking a break, either way i really hope and agreement is reach for the sake of both sides!

poor lady ashton facing stubborn people on both sides of the table, both albanians and serbs i think are totally stuborn and frankly stupid, obviously you will all vote my comment down as you are all serbs/albanians. Either way it's really true, because, kosovo is not welling to accept serbia's proposal's nor is serbia willing to accept kosovo's proposals, every side is walking his separate way.. grow up both seriously!

That monastery is the work of art and not nationalistic therefore it is not a Serb or Albanian is religion art and cant be used to define borders! thx

From your postings there seems to be a lot of things you are not aware in life. However let’s put that aside and I ask that you tell me how will Kosovo survive on its own “two feet”?
I am interested to hear your version of how Kosovo is going to thrive?

Not one of those things happened under Serbia, all under Yugoslavia. i know that some here confuse the two, but there is a big difference. want an example? Slovenes and Croats both opposed the removal of Kosova's autonomy, Sloba called them both traitors. Now, look at Kosova when it was under direct serbian control 1989-1999, no economy, no development, poor human rights records. Yugoslavia is dead and i for one have no nostalgia for it

Yes, indeed. Serbian negotiators will sign Ashton's draft agreement just in case of fulfillment of all requirements.

Why must The Kosovo Albanians want to Rule over Serbians.

This Albanian stanse will create another War.

In the north there are 40 to 60K Serbs Majority of Serbs do live under Majority rule which happens to Be Albanians in Kosovo.

All this today has been theatrical play by both sides, now they both come home victorious I wish they scream Nike and both drop like the runner after race at Marathon. By Friday Serbs in this forum will be happy and Albanins as well and keep saying profanities at each other.

I read pice in Serbian version of how hard its to live with with 90,000 Dinnars a month same faces Albanins in Kosovo but fat cats will keep getting fatter.

I don’t need you to post my statements as I have not waivered for one moment in what I have said.
I await your version of a future Kosovo.

After all the words and a thousand directions the answer is there is no way Serbia could financially survive having Kosovo to return, right? And Kosovo would be worse off in Serbia than alone even if abandoned by everyone.

The purpose of these talks was to accept Kosovo as independent and once that is done Pristina can issue their papers which Belgrade would have to honour as valid.

Krezavi Baki

@edi: Dear Edi, based on your response I am confident that you have never lived in Kosovo in period 1945-1980. To say that this was the best time for Albanians in their history is understatement. They prospered as never before and never since. I know that as I lived it and anybody who says any differently has not got a clue what he is talking about. During that time everything the first happen (university, education, sport, first Albanian woman to graduate, to do PhD etc.; all parameters of society were hugely improved). I am telling you this just because it is the truth and it seems that there is in you enough honesty to be able to think about it.

You have been writing this for a while sj, yet you've never shown any evidence for it. What sane rational person goes to work in Serbia for an average wage of 350 EUROs? That's the same as in Kosova. So, please do show me where it is that you've read about this stream of Albanians heading of to Serbia to work. I certainly have NEVER read anything of the like. Quote me a source sj so I can educate myself.

P.s. we've been through the other stuff before, no point to repeat myself.
