You want 70-75% of Vojvodina to be expelled from the province?! While that might make sense in Hoxha logic and sound appealing to Ian and Lenard..its not quite realistic.

Also you speak of war being no other option. Well just remember Albo, Serbs beat you in 1 on 1 conflict and pretty convincingly too. We were victims of international politics but at least we can go to sleep knowing we never lost a war to Albanians.

The citizens of Srem, Banat & Backa decided to be a part of Serbia. "Vojvodina" is a commie Titoist construct which was created to suppress the democratic majority in Yugoslavia-Serbs.

The question which these separatists cannot seem to answer is, if Vojvodina can have autonomy from Serbia, couldn't the three historical regions of the province have the same kind of autonomy? Why is Pajtic so adamant about decentralizing Vojvodina from Serbia, but not decentralizing Vojvodina itself?

This sort of territorial breakdown of Serbia is not functional. We all know the south is temporarily occupied. However what is remaining should be broken down into smaller units, not large chunks like Vojvodina. I suggest the three historical regions in the north, plus 4 in central Serbia and all the regions have equal autonomy which should not be territorial as much as economical.

The economy in Vojvodina is suffering because of provincial government led by democrats and League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina during last decade. That`s a problem which Mr. Pajtic is trying to hide. The sentence he mentioned doesn`t matter.

Actually we did pretty well knowing that we were fighting what then was third or fourth biggest army in Europe and knowing that we had to rely on inxeperienced fighters and third-rate weapons. We inflicted some pretty big blows on you Chetniks with whatever we had. In turn of course you picked on Women, Children and elderly people because you couldn't exaclt fight us. Also if you read a bit more about KLA you'll find we were one of the most successful guerrila fighting groups in the 20th century! You lost mate, get over it!

Sooner or later Vojvodina would be independent from those Chetniks who think they are superior. Keep spending your money on the lawless north of Kosovo and at the end you will get neither north Kosovo nor Vojvodina. I personally think Vojvodina deserves its independence.

Ari - Vojvodina was created after WWI long before Tito. But tito did send a ton of people from Bosnia and Kosovo who lost their homes in WWII up there as it was cheaper than rebuilding and also brought the numbers up to better protect it from the next German invasion

We all know that Vojvodina was equal state of Yugosllavia untill 1989 when Milosvic occupied it just because they were weaker, he tried to occupie Slovenia , Croatia, B&H, Montenegro, Macedonia, Kosovo, but lost it all, the way its going i think Serbia will end up only with the Beogradski pašaluk !!!

Ashton's visit to Belgrade is an excellent opportunity to help solve this crisis. I would ask her to mediate between Pajtic and Nikolic, before it is too late :).

Wow, there are some pretty ridiculous statements/comments for this story. Vojvodina is simply stating in the declaration that is is autonomous, and that it is protected by constitutional laws, and those laws include a certain amount of money from the national budget, which Belgrade has been lacking in providing. Pajtic is fighting for the good of Vojvodina, and fighting to get the funds it has coming. There is not one word about separatism in the declaration. If someone finds one, please point out where. What paragraph, what sentence? The "good old Milosevic boys in BG" never miss an opportunity to twist/turn.exploit a situation for political gain. They are seething from the voter rejection they got in Vojvodina last election, and will not find peace now until they rule govern there too. Even if it means destroying the entire province. That is the radical, aka SNS, mindset.

Yes - Tito moved people into Vojvodina and killed others for their homes and property. They say in Vojvodina that the people from Bosnia, who he moved there, never even saw electricity or wood floors. And those are Serbs saying that. What goes around comes around.

Vojvodina isn't going anywhere. We love Serbia, we are Serbia. Our minorities are peaceful honest and hardworking. No one wants conflict. The Albanian separatists from our southern province can wish it all they want, but it isn't going to happen.

It is too bad they wish for wars instead of jobs. maybe instead of starting violence, they should start businesses so that regular people in kosovo can earn a loaf of bread to eat.

Reading your comment I wonder is it a shame to be poor? Those people from Bosnia who were moved to Vojvodina lost their homes, most of them their families, and if you think they were happy to move, you are very wrong. And what does this have with disputed declaration?

That kind of statement makes you like complete(you know what)...First you wrote it and said it in public, and know when you've seen that there is no way to sell that kind of story you would like to take it back...ha ha ha...you've said it and now you have to suffer the consequences...trying to avoid consequences that are your own, puts your knowledge of politics into adolescent level...makes me puke when I see what kind of persons take their place in our lives...

I think that it was included in the declaration for a reason. It was suppose to provoke people to react as they did, and then blame it on the ruling party and the Government.

Now that shameful statement about Vojvodina's independence came be moved out of declaration...this act only shows how are real intentions of B.Pajtic, and his real disinterest for Vojvodina. He doesnt think about future of northern Serbia, he only thinks about his political position and he is frightened by the possibility of being associated with financial frauds in RBV. That is his real goal with declaration. Unfortunately, he has been read by the coalition partners and he is loosing their support every day.
