A rally was held in Novi Sad on Friday under the slogan, "Stop the breaking up of Serbia", prompted by <a href="http://www.b92.net/eng/news/politics-article.php?yyyy=2013&mm=04&dd=11&nav_id=85662" class="text-link" target= "_blank">a proposed declaration</a> on Vojvodina's rights.

Early elections would be a proper way for Vojvodina's population to say their opinion about DS gouverment it that northern Serbia's area. Being deaf on peoples invitation for elections, and not letting them to choose in accordance with their constitution rights puts DS gouvement in same place with Milosevic'c way of leading politics. That fact tells us all about DS and their past, future and present intentions...

The same fate would await Kosovo if it ever went back to being "autonomous" inside Serbia. Given its ethnic structure however, the calls for early elections would be replaced by calls to send in the police and the army. The same scenario of the beginning of the nineties is being repeated now in Vojvodina. Good luck Serbia.

Poor Vojvodina - and literally too - once a very prosperous area. Those days are long gone. Serb politicians cannot govern anyone.

This is the real beginning of the end of the Democrats party in Serbia. I would be sorry if they were true democrats who cared for people. The only thing they care for is their pockets. And believe me they are very big pockets.

Why are they so afraid of the elections? If they think that the majority of the people want Democrats to be in power in Vojvodina, they should step on the line. But I think that they know the truth.

We remember what happened last time the leaders of SPS organised protests to unseat authorities in Vojvodina. It looks like similar tactics are being employed now.

If these protests have anything to do with Kosovo, for which provincial authorities in Vojvodina have no power over, they should be directed at the Serbian government - which is taking part in negotiations.

Still, its nice to see that the SNS trolls (ie members of SNS media department, whose activities have been noticed on the Serbian site) are so hard working over here too.

Serbia does not need more problems than it already has. The solution is simple. Pajtic should resign and elections should be called. And that’s all folks!

People from the south of Serbia (and I think from the other regions) will gladly suffer as Vojvodina is suffering. People like you are causing all the trouble, and making our life impossible.

Wasn't the provincial government elected by the majority of people? I really don't understand all these calls for 'early elections'. Governments are usually elected for their term in office, 4 years for example, and after that, a new government is elected.

And the principle of SNS that the ruling majority on state level decides on coalitions and governments on lower levels, down to majors in the cities is totally opposed to the concept of local self-government.

'Majority of people want it'? Bringing bus loads of people from somewhere else (often 100s of kilometers away) to form a protest rally was a method of communism and Milosevic, funny that nowadays the same methods are used again in Serbia.

Amazing how the concept of 'democracy' is seen in Serbia.

Americans "we aren’t steering trouble for no other reason but because we believe people in Vojvodina deserve too live in peace and in the EU". Unlike South Serbia which is bidding for Rusputin as their head of state.
People of Vojvodina have suffered enough of Serb nationalist stupidity.

Good luck Vojvodina.

Well said. There is really something wrong since they are so persistent in their intentions to make trouble for Serbia. Looks like someone from the outside wrote the complete scenario.

Hank, you have a problem, pal. America could give a rat's behind about Vojvodina. If there were some armed conflict, maybe, but not right now. The radical SNS, and their socialist party partners, are using Vojvodina as a divergent. The fact that the ruling coalition must formally sign Kosovo away soon, leads the ruling coalition to move public concentration away from KiM, and onto Vojvodina. It is pure primal politics, nothing more. I was at the so-called meeting today in Novi sad, and it was a poor showing of serbs from Southern Serbia, nationalist supporters, and practically no one from Vojvodina. The radicals are up to their old ways, but everyone knows them by now, and they cannot BS people anymore. Let's face it, radicals, you lost Kosovo back in the late 90's, and if you don't change your ways, you may see Vojvodina go the same way. Personally, I would like to see that happen. Serbs do not know how to govern, only to rule.

True. The elections should be held as soon as possible, the majority of the population of northern provinces want Pajtić's resignation, as we saw today.

Its obvious Pajtic is paid by America to stear up trouble in Vojvodina to make Serbia shift focus from Kosovo and force it to accept a deal. To bad for Pajtic and his american pimps the people of Vojvodina want liberation from Canak and other american sponsored separatists. Everywhere americans stick their nose results in tragedy. Korea, Afghanistan, Irak, El Salvador, Palestein, former Yugoslavia etc.
