Vojvodina is another Kosovo. Sooner or later will end up independent.
(Avni, 12 April 2013 18:11)

Yeah I guess more than 75%of the population in Kosovo are serbs right?I live in Pancevo along with romanians, hungarians and all sorts of people (thank god no albanians though). The people of Vojvodina doesnt want to be independent but to get rid of Pajtic.

CG

pre 11 godina

State prosecuters months ago launched an investigation because of strong suspicions that the Pajtic provincial government and the oligarchy (Canak, some businesmen close to the ruling party DS)surrounding it stole money from the provincial funds and the provincial owned bank named "Develpment Bank of Vojvodina"through schemes like made up contracts or giving "credits" to the oligarchy without insisting on them paying it back!

In the first part of the Pajtic`s declaration he mentions that "it is necessary to stop the "witchhunt" against "provincial politicians" as well as cease to "harm" the business atmosphere in Vojvodina...

Translated into English-->

"Let me continue to steal your money and stop investigating it or otherwise I will create a constitutional crisis !"

That is what yesterdays peaceful protest of Vojvodinas citizens was all about:

To give a clear signal to this crook that the people of Vojvodina want regional elections now!

John Peter

pre 11 godina

I`ll explain what is Pajtic afraid of and why he desperately refuses to resign. The results of the recent local elections in two of Vojvodina's municipalities implies that current DS-LSV government is not popular, so if Pajtic resigned it would be enough to call an early election in the province.

This is all about cash! Vojvodina is rich and doesn't want its taxmoney to go to financing wellfare for Presevo and Sandzak. Not to mention Kosovo, where Serbia is spending a large portion of its budget.
(Hank the Tank, 12 April 2013 19:27)
Vojvodina is not that rich , because Democrats ripped off everything they could, and that is why they are provoking all these problems. They are afraid that If they loose their political positions, then their corruption and economic crimes will be revealed.

If you tell me how Vojvodina can support itself as an independent country I will say: “bravo!” If you cannot, I will say: “another stupid idea of those who want to harm Serbia and its’ people”.

I was wondering, of what interest are Serbian internal issues to all of you non-Serb trolls on this forum? What is it your concern regarding what Serbs do, think, or say? Why don't you go make comments on your own country's news forum? From Kosovo to Vojvodina to even when a Serb farts, there is always some malicious, intimidating comment. If you hate Serbs so much, just leave your coordinates and I'm sure there would be a Serb in your area to address your concerns.

Bahri, you`re speaking nonsense. Vojvodina is a part of Serbia and always will be. During centuries, there were many nations living in peace and prosperity, but in last decade economy was devastated thanks to DS-LSV government.

I wonder what will be left of Serbia in 100 years. The people that claim the right of their neighburs land keep losing it. Whar a suprise.

Soon or later Vojvodina will be split from Serbia only matter of time.

Northern Epirus has a better chance of being liberated from Albania than Vojvodina has of being taken away from Serbia.

Is this DS finally showing its real face or Mr. Pajtic is desperately searching for the way to be remembered in Serbian history, or just desperately asking for some attention...? We are witnessing the worst days in DS history, that's for sure. It was Kosovo, now it's Vojvodina, tomorrow it'll be Eastern Serbia or Sandzak..Where does it end?

Much ado about nothing. Vojvodina is going nowhere and the only ordinary people that actually believe it is live outside of it and comment on forums like this.

DS officials are right of course. They tried to fight separatism in Kosovo too. Sometimes I think north Korea is more democratic than this current government.

Vojvodina separatism is a non-existent fantasy-construction of Serbian nationalists to bolster support for themselves. They create an enemy where there is none, then look like heroes attacking this invented enemy.
(Danilo, 12 April 2013 13:13)

It is non-existent in the sense that it does not have a lot of support among ordinary Serbs. But members of the political establishment i.e. Pajtic and Canak (its almost always opportunistic Serbs rather than any minority group) are absolutely attempting to (according to them) "internationalize the question of Vojvodina".

Here's where the irony kicks in. Most of these liberal opportunists argue that people in Vojvodina pay more taxes and contribute more to the Serbian budget than the rest of Serbia. But the reason why people in the north pay more and don't get much out of it is because they are paying the bill for the "assembly of Vojvodina", the "Vojvodina Academy of Sciences, Vojvodina offices in Brussels etc.

So yes Danilo, the people in Vojvodina do not have separatist aspirations. But snake politicians are trying to infuse those kind of beliefs onto vulnerable people. These people are trying to Montenegrin-ize Vojvodina but its not working.

"Did you even read the article? It says the protest is against corrupt politicians who are attempting to separate northern Serbia from the rest of the country. This is the work of the defeated DS party which has ran out of ideas now and are resorting to separatism as a means of getting popular support"

Did YOU even read the article? This is protest is brought to you by DSS, SNS and SPS.

"Its not working though, as the article states the student organizations of Novi Sad University are organizing the protest. "

A student leader is providing a smokescreen for Belgrade politicians. On the Serbian page someone describes buses of SNS party members arriving from all over the country to demonstrate, while students say they want nothing to do with this "miting". Anti-corruption is just the new term for anti-bureaucratism.

winston

With a federal government like the one that is now in power, is it any wonder that Vojvodina wants to protect itself? Vucic and his cosmetically made-over radical party, wants total control of all of Serbia. They cannot tolerate any form of opposition. But like Kosovo, it will eventually come back to haunt them. People want democracy and freedom, they have had enough of totalitarian rule, and that is what the radicals represent, one country, one ruling party. In true European spirit, of course.

Ari Gold
