This is, in the least, ridiculous. US' say on Kosovo is of no relevance, whatsoever. We've been witnesses of their interference and "solution-making policy" on numerous occasions - unfortunately, though!

Like so many Serbs you have never really read UNSC 1244 have you? That is why you all wave it like a banner and the world is scratching their heads in bewilderment.
Yes Serbia rejected Rambouillet which what led to the bombing. The kumanovo agreement brought an end to the bombing and then the UNSC 1244 was passed with 14 yeas(including russia) and one abstinsion(China)
UNSC 1244 mandates that the Kosovo status issue is to be resolved in accordance with the Rambouillet accords, not once but 4 times.

Now that Rambouillet is off the junk pile lets talk about Ahtisaari, it is your own politicians that are saying the reason the cannot accept the terms of the dialogue as presented is because they are being offered LESS than what was in the Ahtisarri Plan that they rejected 6 years ago, in hindsight if they had accepted it then Serbia would be about 20 years ahead of where it is now.
But please read 1244 it is very interesting the only thing it says about Kosovo remaining in Yugo is that it will enjoy substantial autonomy within the territory of Yugoslavia UNTIL final status has been determined.

It is complicated to understand coming from a country where your top politicians spend moer time in other countries than trying to fix problems at home and probably have more frequent flier miles than Carter has liver pills but here goes.
The Secretary of State takes care of global issues and meets with power leaders to help solve issues and developments around the globe. Assistant Secretary of States take care of those issues that are still important and help fill the gap of what the SOS cannot do due to time restraints.
The deputy assistant Secretary of State deals with low level issues for the US and third world countries that the US feels they should address but do not warrrant the attention of high level executives, similar to the issue of Serbia joining the EU. While the US would like Serbia to prosper in the EU rather than become a quarantined island in the middle of Europe it is not a matter that requires high level involvement.
I have to say that I agree with all the comments below.Any sane person will ask the question as to why should Serbia surrender part of its territory for a membership of an entity which is collapsing in front of our eyes? The fact is that Cyprus, Portugal, Spain, Slovenia, Greece, Italy and Ireland are bankrupt and the same malaise has now spread to France and also the unfunded debt is spreading across the rest of the Eurozone. The austerity measures pushed by the Germans have forced those countries into an ever increasing depression of cuts, job losses, and poverty for the citizens. This depression will flow back through the rest of the Eurozone as people just stop spending and companies find they have no one to sell to.The Germans are in effect now confiscating or asset stripping those countries of their last assets - individuals savings, gold etc.
If Serbia still wishes to remain a free,independent and democratic country she must stop all negotiations with the EU .The alternative will be to become a satrapy of the EU.
