3.5% interest rate?! OOH REALLY ?!! not impressive at all! you call that friendship ?? friends becomes enemies when one doesn't pay his debt back quickly ! russia and serbia are not really that close, these are just fake shows, showing off about something they shouldn't be so happy about, you think the west will get jealous or something ?! i don't care what albanians think but the EU and the USA are the only ones which can help our economy, only after we please them well! do what it takes, our economy is suffering, unemployment is high in the sky !

It continues to be so very obvious that Serbia needs Russia more than it needs those who bombed it for 78 straight days. Perhaps Serbia will gradually be accepted by the BRICS, rather than pursuing the lost cause of the EU. By the way, the latest EU 'country' to likely need a bailout is Slovenia? And, Croatia is being fast-tracked into the Eurozone. Then, there is tiny Montenegro.

The photo says, see you at the Gay Pride parade in BG in September. Jesus, why don't you guys seal the loan with a kiss? Serbia falls out of favor with the West, and it's off to Russia with Dacic. But, it was planned, you cannot arrange these meetings that fast. Serbian politics never changes, especially with these fossils from Milosevic's era. Same faces, different party names - they fool no one, but Serbs.

Please don't give me this Milosevic crap. He's been ousted years ago and what has happened since? This is about the US' geopolitical strategy. Milosevic was set up in much the same way as Saadam Hussein. Clinton gave Milosevic the green light only to backstab him later. If you believe the US gives a rat's ass about albos, you're out of your mind. You are just an excuse for the US stealing land and whatever else they can get from a small country. And yes, Serbia should look eastward. You say we are asking for loans, loans are what makes the world go around. Look at yourselves, you are living from US/EU SUPPORT like leaches.

There is still room for the gas price to be higher. 500$, 600$... Serbia keeps on paying the expensive Russian gas, while the rest of world can soon get plenty of gas from fracking.

The EU is a sinking ship. How many other EU members were subject to the same conditions as Serbia, i.e. let's give away our province for a date. Now it's Kosovo, next time it's Vojvodina, heck, let's give away the entire country. Get real!! You do not give up your country for any price! There are alternatives, for example, the BRIC economies.

God bless North Korea, Iran, and the Serbian Radical Party.

If only it were as you see through your nationalistic glasses.
You ask how many EU members were subject to the same as Serbia, Everyone of them that had that province stripped from them by the UN because of the horrendous violence it inflicted on the people. Everyone that has a resolution that keeps its police and military out of the province and international forces to uphold it. Everyone who has all political and economic control stripped from it by the UNSC.

Turn to the BRICS, this is a group of emerging economies and I see no offer from them for Serbia to join. An emerging economy is not one that is seeking a new loan every 15 days!

As far as the last sentence, you are the one that linked them together no one else.

let's give away our province for a date - ivan
The most ridiculous statement of the day. The Milosevic regime, including the radicals and socialists that comprise today's ruling coalition in Serbia, lost Kosovo way back in 1999. Signing on the dotted line today is simply a formality. A date was offered to Serbia, but Serbia does not want the EU, not these politicians in government today, because their game would be over if they had to change their ways. It is easier to borrow money from Russia, sell out to the arabs, let the people pay for everything, and have the 3 stooges blab about how they are fighting for all Serbs. A very tired old story that has put Serbia on its knees, with little chance of standing up again.

winston

Russia is the comfort zone for the old Milosevic socialists and the radicals, the group that is in power again in Serbia. But what has Russia ever done for Serbia, besides buy up former Yugoslav State industries for cheap prices, and give serbia loans - no gifts? But keep on buddying up with the Ruskies, SPS/SNS, you don't have long. If the EU/US slaps you with sanctions again, 50 Russias will not save you.

Stan

Sandy (Sam?) I agree with you. I believe we should not prioritise Kosovo so much as improve the economy, job prospects and standard of living. But the Germans have forced the issue as they want out and have put the condition of normalising relations. So both issues are tied together unfortunately. Serbia is being blackmailed, pure and simple.
And do the "West" now consider being friendly with Russia a punishable offence?
