I sincerely hope that people of Serbia are smarter than that and next time vote for people who are going to fight for Serbia and not EU or themselves.
(Peggy, 6 April 2013 02:35)

Since that happened already but apparently it did not work, I have a better suggestion. The next time the people of Serbia should be smart enough to vote for people who are going to fight for the pride of the Serb diaspora and not for the people living in Serbia.

. What I don't understand is why the EU would even consider allowing a deadbeat country such as Serbia into the club. What benefit will Serbia bring the EU? The EU is not a charity organization!

It will give you Kosovo with billions of dollars under ground.

can't understand how this "isolation" is any different from the situation now except that Serbia will participate in less meetings where they are bullied and offered empty promises to get into an entity of foreign dictates. Serbia's still been trading with EU countries while not a part of it, and Serbia can look to Switzerland which is doing swell outside the EU.
(ida, 6 April 2013 01:27)

Ida,

The only reason Serbia desperately wants and needs to join the EU is that they will be eligible for 3 billion Euros of EU funds. It is the only way for Serbia to survive economically. I would say that is a very good reason for Serbia to become a member of the EU. What I don't understand is why the EU would even consider allowing a deadbeat country such as Serbia into the club. What benefit will Serbia bring the EU? The EU is not a charity organization!

At least we are getting to know who our own sellouts and traitors are.
The more these people talk and tell us how we must capitulate the more we can recognize them and avoid them like the plague.

I sincerely hope that people of Serbia are smarter than that and next time vote for people who are going to fight for Serbia and not EU or themselves.

“Failure to reach an agreement would be a failure of the European foreign policy and I do not think they are ready for such an outcome,” she concluded.

LOL! The EU is a failure and we can see that clearly by events in Greece, Cyprus, Italy, Spain, Belgium, UK and so on. Time to reject this pipe dream and wake up those Albanians who believe that punishing Serbia is going to advance their cause. The opposite will happen and Albanian nationalism will be their downfall.

"She reiterated that the coalition agreement between the ruling parties envisages speeding up of the EU integration. "

- they were sped up this government surprised even the DS yellows we will do anything for EU! The agreement says nothing of being forced to accept ultimatums to give up on Serbs in Kosovo - supposedly in exchange of a date for starting candidacy, and no-one in the Serbian government can be blamed for not accepting an indecent proposal!

If this is a veiled threat that the Dinkys URS (aka G17-) members would pullout of government then so be it as this government might still be able to exist without them as a minority Govt. If a new election did have to be called then URS need to understand they will be held responsible - this is something that would be a waste of time and will backfire as the electorate punish URS (G17-) for yet again being the party that pulled down a government! Who would want to ever have URS ranks in any government ever again even if they were ever to pass the threshold.

EU ascension talks are not the essential factor for Serbia's economic revival - the actual matter of implementing reforms are the essential factor and if truly essential can and must be done without candidacy under the most humiliating circumstances.

"Grubješić said that the EU must not be passive bearing in mind that its credibility was on the line."

Is this lady for real? Does she believe that the EU gives a rat's ass about their credibility? What kind of credibility did it have so far when they are demanding that you to give up your province FOR A DATE? Give me the whole world and I still won't give away my land, let alone some meaningless date! Which other countries relinquished their territory for membership, let alone a date? The EU (USA) is on a mission to dismantle Serbia, does she not see that? Let's give away a province, besides other things, that holds trillions of dollars in resources for a freaking date? What happens after that? Let's give away Vojvodina, Raska, Sandjak, and then Belgrade. Like I've always said, and here it is one more time, Serbia does not have leadership! They are spineless and corrupt cowards! Among others, Wesley Clark and Margaret Albright are just waiting in the shadows to open up mining corporations. Turn to the east you fools!

God bless North Korea, Iran, Syria, and the Serbian Radical Party. Amen.

Nonsense. Serbia has enough political support on the status of Kosovo i Metohija to never be "isolated". As far as economics go, yes its true investors want to see political stability, but not actively supporting the occupation of its territory is not a unstable policy to have.

As far as economics go, attending meetings in Brussels with unelected EUrocrats and Albanian terrorists will not improve living standards and/or create jobs for Serbs. It will only deepen the pocket of already wealthy Serbian career politicians. Serbia, just like all countries in the Balkans need: lower taxes (both on investors and population), clear the red tape bureaucracy that is abnormally large for nations of Serbia's size and clean up corruption.

But Kosovo i Metohija? No. This is our Jerusalem. Under no possible situation should we give this up. And despite what Albanians come on here everyday and say, such pressure on Serbia would not be there if the future of the territory did not depend on what it decided.

What a dumb comment. So, it's better to give up your dignity and territory and give up on your own people so you personally won't feel isolated by some idiots in Western Europe? What the heck does isolated even mean in this case? What, you won't be able to get discounts on Italian shoes?

Anyone associated with Dinkic wants to make money from this 'negotiated solution'.

It does not make sense.

REJECT NOW. You are negotiating with a Serbian Organ trafficker. Sure, he will be fair (heavy sarcasm).
