Dragan,

Your intentional errors have taken you to a wrong track. First you willfully failed to understand that when Danilo wrote

"These people's ideological brothers roam the streets of Belgrade spray-painting over latinic street signs",

he wrote about Croats who protest against bilingual and Cyrillic nameplates in Croatia, not about Thompson and his fans. Then you go on saying that the news article is about Thompson. It isn't, it's about protest against Cyrillic nameplates. Thompson has two lines in the end of the article.

It's not an insult to intelligence to draw lines between people who oppose bilingual nameplates in Croatia and in Serbia. What is an insult is your way to see that Croats opposing bilingual nameplates are nazis while those spraying nameplates are -kids. I do very well remember your protest against Kosovo Albanians who call their the stone throwing people just "kids", basically innocent. Now you've taken liberties to follow the example.

You are an example of such persons who can't stand criticism. Self-criticism is self-hating to you, and who criticizes Serbian this or that is a Serb hater. You know, therapy would do good to you. Low self-esteem will cause you a lot harm.

Dragan

pre 11 godina

Ok Danilo, I guess I have to spell it out for you as you are too slow to even figure out where you are ignorant. Did you even read the article? Read the last sentence:

'Thompson is an ultra-nationalist whose songs glorify the WW2 Croatian Nazi-allied Ustasha regime.'

Do you know what the ustashe did in WWII?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jasenovac_concentration_camp
You compared Thompson and his nazi fans to kids who spraypaint street signs in Belgrade. That is an insult to any intelligent human being who knows a bit of history of the Balkans. You again tried to turn an article about a singer who glorifies Croatia's Nazi past to another anti-Serb rant.
Understand now why you're ignorant? You just aren't very bright, deal with it. If you keep your mouth shut people won't notice.

Cheers!!

Danilo

pre 11 godina

Another rant without answering the question?

"enjoy pointing out your ignorance which is on display here "

Actually, you have chosen not to do that even though I've invited you several times.

Why don't you point out my ignorance which is on display here? What, exactly is "ignorant" (ie. lacking knowledge) about making an observation? How's that even possible?

Dragan

pre 11 godina

Haha...don't flatter yourself Danilo, you're an inconsequential ignoramus whom I don't lose any sleep over. I do, however, enjoy pointing out your ignorance which is on display here non-stop. Your only fans are the albo trolls who pollute this site, the few ustashe morons, the frico freak, and the odd Euro wankers like Olli and Ian. This means you probably should move to albania or croatia, you'd actually have some friends there with whom you share views. Belgrade is no place for a self-hating Serb.:). Just some friendly advice.

Cheers!!

Olli

pre 11 godina

Dear ???

Now when Danilo proved his case you have nothing to say? Makes you to look like a truth hating Serb troll liar.

Dragan, does it sweeten your aching, all hating soul to be pathetic?

Danilo

pre 11 godina

:)

I really make your blood pressure rise by my mere existence, don't I Dragane :)

I can't even state observations without you having a meltdown anymore (and typing the same rant. get a thesaurus, bro, you've already called me the same 3-4 names 100 times)

I'm curious, though, what problem do you have specifically with what I've written on this particular article.

I said that Serbs should be able to use cyrillic in Vukovar and that they will be able to. I don't think it's that.

so, it must be about the Belgrade signs. Why does me pointing out something that is true bother you so much?

Dragan

pre 11 godina

Have I said anything "anti-Serbian" in this comments to this article?

(Danilo, 5 April 2013 14:19)

You're joking right? You constantly, consistently, spit on Serbia on this forum, you always take the anti-Serb side of the argument, and I don't think I've ever seen you write anything positive about Serbia on here. You're a self-hating Serbian clown and carpetbagger, whose only purpose there is to exploit cheap labour, ridicule the people on whose backs you're making money, and you have no respect for where you came from, and know nothing about Serbian history. You need a girlfriend or something, because you're clearly one bitter, pathetic, and negative dude. Seriously though, I'd love to see you go to the Thompson concert with a Serbian trobojka on your arm, so you can feel those 'EU Values' that your beloved croats possess.
And that's me being nice so I don't get edited on here.

Cheers!!

Dear Mr. Balkanit I'm not from Herzegovina. I have never even travelled their or through their. What is their to see except Medjugorje for the delusional. Do you think vandalizing street signs is something inherently Serbian? Is vandalizing signs a patriotic act? SPC UK seems to think it is.

Danilo is obviously going to the Thompson concert, like the good self-hating Serb that he is. Danilo, do me just one favor, when you are at the concert, please wear a crest showing the Serbian flag on your shoulder.

Latin script "isn't Serbian"? Says who? Some Serbs use latinic, some cyrillic. Using latinic doesn't make you "less Serbian".

Jesus... the cognitive dissonance in some people. Huffing and puffing over Croats protesting cyrillic, but when shown that the same thing happens in Belgrade, insisting "THAT'S DIFFERENT!" (and then trying to attack me)

Bam Bam is ignorant and arrogant, too.

In Croatia, signs are necessary under a constitutional law that mandates bilingual signs in towns where a minority accounts for more than 30% of the population.

SCP UK

pre 11 godina

Danilo you said "ideological brothers", though you are now ignoring those words you said. The ustasa ideology and Serbian patriotic ideologies are not brotherly in any way, if you think they are it would be entertaining to see you justify how.

Jeff

pre 11 godina

Danilo- the difference is 100000's of Croats werent ethnically cleansed from Serbia, or that genocide was committed against Croats by Serbs. You must not talk to many ordinary Serbs if you cant grasp this. While the Ustase dont want Cyrillic because it is Serbian, some Serbs do not want Latin script because it isn't Serbian and are trying to maintain the Cyrillic alphabet. Theres a difference. Capisce? But then, Belgrade is an open city, everyone is welcome, including Croats and Albanians who are very happy there. You must hang around with them.

Political Mastermind

pre 11 godina

Lets take a quick look at what Serbia has because of not following Croatia's lead on minorities. 500,000 Roma, 2,000,000 Albanians, 300,000 muslims and another 500,000 others. Serbia will be plagued by un friendlies for the next 1000 years. Minorities are a drain on the economy and they will continue to drag Serbia closer to hell.

trizo

pre 11 godina

Two reasons why I'm happy.
1) Serbians will be reading/writing in Cirilica.
2) Fascist Croats will have to suffer & live with this.
Ps In no way do I have a problem with Croats, just these ones.

Bam Bam

New York is made up of many different cultural groups with high percentage of these groups in a majority in certain area's / surburbs. The difference is in New York your not going to see a street sign or government building in Jewish, Italian or Latino, it's all in 'ENGLISH', why because thats the offical language of the country. Detroit has many areas where Muslims are the majority and once again you will not see road signs in arabic. So why the hell do the Serbs think they can have cyrillic signage all over Vukovar. It just goes to show that the Serbs from Eastern Slovanija have no intention in the reconciliation process. Have your Serb language and faith but please stop pushing the boundries with ridiculous ideas...!

How can so many Croatians support someone that is pro-NAZI? Don't any of you Croats see something wrong with that?
(Steve B., 4 April 2013 15:22)

Most of his supporters live in Sydney and Chicago. They call themselves "Croat" because one of their grandparents came from Yugoslavia, and most likely fled in the 1940s to escape Tito's retribution. They have some unhealthy obsession with associating everything Yugoslav with Greater Serbia and anything that promotes the independence of Croatia, even the Nazi elements, have to have some legitimacy (just read the comments from Americans "Bam Bam" and "King Damir" - two "Croats" that have never been to Croatia but claim to know what it really means to be Croatian.

Having spent a good deal of time in Croatia, most of Thompson's fans there are the seljacine from Herecegovina who now manly call Split and Zadar their home (yes you, Lenard). Most "normal" Croats just spend their time listening to Ceca and Lepa Brena and singing Serb Krajina songs in ijekavica at Croatian weddings. Thompson is such a comical buffoon, he might have at one point in his life regretted having the far right and neo-Ustashe as the majority of his fan base, but hey, the man's got bills to pay and a life to keep up so if shouting the idiotic "Za dom spremni" slogan at his concerts brings in the money and the fans, he's more than happy to sell out :)

TP

pre 11 godina

Your map link, Lenard, shows minor differences between Serbs and Croats that are far, far less than between different parts of the UK, Germany and many other countries considered to be generally homogeneous.

In England we have English blacks, Asians, Jews, latins and others who are protestants, Catholics, Orthodox, Judaic, Muslim, Buddhist and others, but we are all English. Even a millenium ago we were already a mixed race of latins, Celts, Angles, Saxons, Jutes and others. The same is almost true for other British nations such as Scotland, Wales and Ireland.

But we are still, and hopefully shall remain, English

Winston,

Where do you get the idea that I don't think Serbs shouldn't be able to use cyrillic or have cyrillic on street signs in Vukovar?

When Croatia joins the EU, Croatian Serbs can take this to Strasbourg.

There will be cyrillic in Vukovar and there's nothing anyone will be able to do about it.

Has it ever occurred to anyone here that the only difference between a Croat and a Serb is religious, and not even a different religion?

This hatred between them (mostly by Croats towards Serbs because the latter don't seem to care any more) is unnatural and generally manufactured by outside forces in order to prevent a powerful, genuinely independent and mostly homogeneous Slav state existing in the Balkans.

How don't you people feel like utter fools for allowing yourselves to be duped like this?
(TP, 4 April 2013 21:19) Yore wrong Croatians are haplogroup 1 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Haplogroup_I.png the original higher percentage then anyone Scandinavian country's the next highest 1 gene carriers our descendents. Danilo, I have seen some of your comments on other articles here, and you are most probably Albanian - which explains your criticism of Serbs. Sure, allow every country to use their own specific alphabet, but if a city is bi-national, then the city's alphabet must be also. Why in the world, today in the 21st century, especially with Croatia due to become an EU member soon, care so much what the street signs will be like in one particular, multi-ethnic city? I mean really, don't Croats have more important things to concern themselves with right now. Serbs do not present a threat to Croatia anymore, nor did they ever really, so move on Croatia. You will soon be an EU member, so project the democratic tolerance that are supposed to embody, and leave the Serbs alone, They have their own concerns, and use of an alphabet in Vukovar, is not one. No way there can still be Ustasha loyalists in the 21st century in Croatia, can there?

Danilo- the difference is 100000's of Croats werent ethnically cleansed from Serbia, or that genocide was committed against Croats by Serbs. You must not talk to many ordinary Serbs if you cant grasp this. While the Ustase dont want Cyrillic because it is Serbian, some Serbs do not want Latin script because it isn't Serbian and are trying to maintain the Cyrillic alphabet. Theres a difference. Capisce? But then, Belgrade is an open city, everyone is welcome, including Croats and Albanians who are very happy there. You must hang around with them.

It's not an insult to intelligence to draw lines between people who oppose bilingual nameplates in Croatia and in Serbia. Yea, most anti Serbian Croats are in fact of Serbian ancestry themselves! My message to that kind of people: Enjoy your new identity but leave other people alone with their own identity.

Vukovar is part of Srem, and Srem joined the kingdom of Sebia in 1918, and according to Croatian sources at the end of the 19th C Vinkovci was a Serbian town, but the people there were Catholic (that was the Austrian political pressure in Slavonia in order to get some rights you had to be Catholic. These cathloic Serbs remained there to this day but think themselves to be Croats, fine for them.

But Vukovar as well the rest of Srem is a Serbian province, a religion does not change that fact.
