@Aleks

I fully agree wit your point of wiew and this is why I dont undertand why Mrkiç during his visit in Albania asked :
1.Cyrillic toponomistc in the areas where the serbian minority lives in Albania
2.The schools where the serbo-croat language can be teached
3.The fully respect of "the minority" rights

Someone please explain to me how the Albanians are being opressed in Presevo? Or Medveja and Bujanovac? How exactly are they oppressed? Are they rounded up and beaten everyday? No. Are they free to live anywhere in Serbia? Yes. Are they free to do as they please? Yes.

Now, if oppression means there are no Albanian language schools, no Albanian flags flying on government buildings, no Albanians in high ranking jobs because they don't know Serbian, etc...if that's oppression, you're all morons. I must be the most oppressed person in the US then! The fact is if Albanians realized they live in SERBIA and actually respected SERBIA they would not have any issues. You live in Serbia, you must speak Serbian to get anywhere. Why would you expect a school in Albanian language only? That's the stupidest thing I know of. Why would you expect an Albanian flag over government buildings? Again very stupid. You want all of that, go to Albania.

There is no Albanian oppression in southern Serbia. There is only Albanian ignorance where they as a minority group are trying to make Serbia into Albania. In Texas, California, Arizona, New Mexico, etc there are NO MEXICAN ONLY SCHOOLS. NO MEXICAN FLAGS ON GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS. Learn English, fly the US flag, get educated, and you can achieve. Be an idiot, try to push for Mexican flags on government buildings, try to push for Mexican only schools, erect monuments to terrorists, and see where it gets you. It's not oppression!

Building monuments of people with a kalashnikov in their hand ,in 50-s "partizan" style is such an ugly thing.
I have seen many of them in Kosova and honestly are very unaesthetic.
All have same appareance to the point that you might think are dedicated to the same person.
Esthetics appart it cannot be an UçK monument in Serbia as it cannot be an Arkan monument in Kosova.

I don't think you can build these kinds of monuments on private property unless they are properly zoned.
But in any event, Serbian taxpayers should stop sending money down to these places which have so much money to build expensive memorials.

They were not freedom fighters!
THey got all the freedom you could get they wanted to take territory from the Republic of Serbia for themselves--> that is not fighting for freedom!

As for this complex, down with it, those people can cross the border to the west to Pristhina and build it there and not on Serbian soil!
(mick, 3 April 2013 22:07)

when a nation (serbia) oppress its own people (albanian is presevo, since they are "serbian citizens") the minority (Albanians) have the right to fight for their freedom. now do you want me to give you a lesson on how to suck on a lollipop ?

Interesting that albanians have money to put up monuments of terrorist killers while their own people starve. Albanians just keep provoking and then say serbs are troublemakers. Serbias curse is that they have albanian neighbours. Albanians are truly the core to all the evils in the balkans. We shouldn't just bulldoze this terrorist scrine but all albanian inhabited areas.

“The locals gave 3,000 (square) meters for it. This is a big project and the entire investment will cost more than EUR 100,000,” local official Faril Azizi has said.

The latest example showing that, left to their own devices, Albanians are stupid with money :)

Privately owned organs? Either way, go waste your money on stupid memorials instead of bettering your own lives, and then watch the Serbian police come take it down. . . again.

If you did not sent your inspectors when the work started in private property, it will be to late and you cannot touch it when is completed. On my private property I can erect the statue of North Korean Dear Leader Kim.

Well my friends , that's where BG needs to learn from the west and the turks.
If the same thing happened in the west or with the turks (in dealing with Christian minorities) .construction would be shut down by inspectors ,fire marshals, feasibility studies, property rights holders, any way with in the rule of law is the key...its up to the authorities too do their jobs.

Albanians:

Cry they have no money coming in to them and they are suffering and living in poverty.

Spend 100k Euros on a monument, for terrorists, that will be tore down shortly after being erected.

Zoran

Well, just more proof that Albanians see nationalism as more important than the well-being of their people. Next time they complain about the economic hardships in their regions, we only have to point to €100k being spent to honour 8 nationalists.

I only hope that Belgrade doesn't make the same mistake it made last time and allow this memorial to stand for a period of time before removing it. Not removing the monument immediately turned the event into an international media circus, complete with Albanian saber rattling and empty threats. When the Albanians realized that the US wasn't going to fight this battle for them, they were helpless as they've been throughout their history. Good luck Albos. This monument should removed immediately. Go honor your terrorists in the backward land of Albania.

LOLOL well they obviously weren't pretty good freedom fighters because Presevo is still under the control of Belgrade. In fact most of your freedom fighters throughout Serbia, not just in Presevo but also in Kosovo i Metohija are pretty weak "fighters" (unless organ extraction, rape and ganging up on seniors and 14 year old girls is considered strong).

Rule of thumb, anytime the Albanian "freedom fighters" don't have Western backing they lose miserably. I.e. Presevo, FYR Macedonia, Mitrovica 2011 etc.

Unbelievable. In a deprived area with high unemployment and abject poverty, these people find the cash to erect monuments to terrorists. Talk about getting your priorities right. The Albanians responsible for this know nothing but provocation and creating tension. It's all done on purpose. The Serbian state should get a grip on the situation. Planning permission for these 'monuments' should be rejected. No other country would tolerate this.

wow 100 000 Euros for a memorial for ex terror members? 3000sm? of land

Wouldn't it be wiser to use that money and land for food or educational purposes..?

Surely this article isn't true..

If it is true.. can anyone really blame Slobodan Milosevic for the tactics used in the 90s?

And if anyone assumes to reply to the above within a historical perspective.. e.g illyrians.. Please, don't believe what the tooth fairy told you.. other than that please provide concrete scientific evidence of any Albanian, directly associated/related with any one illyrian
