The new Serbian Public Procurement Law, designed to ensure better control and responsibility, entered into force on Monday.

Besides stating that the public procurement law will save more than seven hundred million euro of public money, the law-makers need pass the law that all former cases of public procurement must come under police scrutiny considering that about a billion euros were embezzled or defrauded by public -procurement sectors a year. It is a grim satisfaction implementing the new law without having former offenders prosecuted and embezzled money restored to state budget.
