Serbia must remember that there is much more to the world than the EU. It is not absolutely necessary economically. However, because of UNSC 1244, kosovo is not a UN member unless Serbia gives permission. Because of BRICS, Serbia does not have to accept ultimatums from the EU master, Berlin. Serbia's obsession with the EU which promises nothing is misplaced.

You know even if Serbia gives up Kosovo for the EU they still will not get in. The Croatians are just itching to get in and block, they'll put up conditions like - 'You are not allowed to mention the Ustashe' and 'you must pay us damages for the cost of getting rid of the Serbs in Krajina' or 'You have to admit that our cakes are better than yours' that kind of stuff.

I cannot see the benefit of giving everything away on promises from foreign politicians who have worked against you for so many years. I just don't get the logic.

It is absolutely normal to hold a meeting. There must be full consensus of all political parties when it comes to issue of Kosovo.

Instead of dogmas , old dated blogs ,and stereotypes about Albanians, why don't you take a look of latest data by independent serious parties. Below list might enlighten you, not only is Serbia the first in Balkans for illicit fund transfers (tied to criminal activity) but Albania is last.

Thanks for the link in which it describes the reputation and then says reputations are hard to change but Albania was a relatively safe place to travel. Then you can punch in Serbia and find out that only a fool would go there. a list of the do nots:
1. Do not try to maneuver through Serbia by driving, the roads are in bad repair, and then the police routinely stop drivers for "speeding" even if not and demand money, foreign registered cars are a bigger target and will pay more money.
2. Do not travel by taxi, period, they will routinely overcharge huge for fares and are protected by the police.
3. Buses are safe but then you will be expected to pay bribes and then sign a paper that you did not give one.
4. There are frequent toll booths on the road ways that can be from 20-200 euros????? And I went through a toll road here in America the other day and thought $2 was outrageous.

So I guess you make the choice do I want to watch for pick pockets in Albania or everyone else in Serbia? so their statement that it is relatively safe to travel to Serbia actually translates into as long as you have plenty of money and part with it easily.
