This is germany for you guys.
They are in europe and they didn't get rid off them after WWII.
Well a big choise for serbia.
I can only advise the serbs to get the deal right and gain as much as you can.
EU has huge problems so don't rush deciding things hastingly.

NEVER WE WILL RECOGNISE KOSOVO.

Germans have said this whole time they won't ask for recognition. Now it has come. How obvious this was.

Bye Bye EU.

Kosovo is Serbian and Albanians who live there are Serbian citizens.

Bob

Idiot.

Do you really think that Serbia would join the EU at the same time as Kosovo?

Serbia has been humiliated, but I would be most surprised if Serbia would humiliate itself by following this suggestion.

Brian

How has serbia and Kosovo not already done this with the customs and liaison officer ambassadors and meetings and conferences where there equal.

My god, really? The EU is behaving more like Nazi Germany each passing day. Just remmember, when ultimatums heavily outnumber your referendums then it's time to leave.

Well, then how come five EU states do not recognize Kosovo? And should Georgia recognize Abkhazia before ever joining EU? Why different standards?
(Ron, 27 March 2013, 22:38)

Life is unfair, dear… The EU can decide whatever it wants on what the EU admission criteria are, whether fair or unfair. If anybody does not like them, it is free not to join. Serbia, too, can set whatever criteria it wants, whether fair or unfair, for others to join Serbia – if anybody does not like them, it is free not to join Serbia.
----------

And finally: this person is not speaking for the whole of EU. Serbia should be strict on this: UDI should not be accepted.
(Ron, 27 March 2013, 22:38)

Sure, Serbia is free to be strict but obviously no country takes orders from Serbia on what to accept or not accept. If you’ve been told that Serbia controls the world, you’ve been grossly misled, dear.
----------

No its not true. I am really shocked to learn about this condition. Now you know why I say that all western government are run by idiots. This was the worst kept secret in history.
(sj, 27 March 2013, 22:47)

Yeah, apparently Serbs were the only ones that did not know about it :)

Serbia gets nothing by the "recognition" of it by K-Albs. Absolutely nothing.
Serbia should not be giving up Kosovo and further imperiling the lives of the hardy Serbs who've survived.
Serbia has gotten nothing good from the EU anyways and it has trade with it despite not being in the EU.
Serbia should look at what is happening in Cyprus and many other EU countries facing economic and financial problems.

Serbia could pull itself out better if it stops following EU dictates for empty promises and instead continues to make deals with Russians and other non-EU countries.
I read that Serbia just negotiated a 13% reduction in gas prices from Russia. All Serbia gets from EU countries are orders, blackmail, and threats and a bunch of strings attached to each "deal".

A mutual agreed deal is fine of course!

"The German politician, elected to the EP on the CDU party ticket, further explained that "two countries that do not recognize each other" cannot be members of the EU"

Serbia isn't a country because it isn't recognized by Kosova! LOL

"The German politician, elected to the EP on the CDU party ticket, further explained that "two countries that do not recognize each other" cannot be members of the EU, since this would be "impossible from the legal and political standpoint"."

There's no EU country that doesn't recognize Serbia. But there are 5 EU countries that don't recognize the self-proclaimed state of Kosovo.

Dardania

Kosova better NOT recognize Serbia... why recognize a country filled with war criminals. Thaqi should be charged with treason! Kosova deserves a better leader.

azir

Thank you Germany for your strong support.

Serbia must comply with mutual recognition ,since they hardly have any friends in the region.

Brok also concurred with his fellow German MEP, Doris Pack, who was quoted as saying that "Kosovo and Serbia should join the EU at the same time", in order to avoid avoid a situation similar to that between Macedonia and Greece, where Serbia could "use the veto to obstruct Kosovo's membership in the union".

Serbia can't wait 100 years for Kosovo to get up to the basic standards of living required for EU entry.
