Will the Kalb trolls who dominate this site please read the independent reports of casualties during the war and the chronology of events. Please do some some work, I know it's hard for you, but you might actually learn something. Parrotting the same old claptrap is becoming extremely tedious.

I agree Jeff. This is why I'm cracking open a bottle of Champagne and celebrating this anniversary! Cheers!

Someone mentioned that Serbian Church was attacked due to its nationalistic idea and wrong doing…. Please…do get some sense out of it and let me know what has happened with the oldest Mosques in Kosovo??? As monuments and cultural heritage those remained from Turkish times, they still stand in Pristina and Prizren. Turks, on the other hand, even 700 years ago, were more civilized and did not destroy those “nationalistic” churches. The Churches survived 1000 years so they could be, in one day, burned down by bunch of illiterate idiots.
As per Cathedral in Pristina…. I need to laugh at the point that people are not bothered with it. The Cathedral is located opposite of University of Pristina, whilst the Orthodox Church is located on the right side of the Faculty of Philosophy, also Pristina University. In that very Orthodox Church, the future doctors, scientists etc of Pristina University are, pardon my language, shitting and throwing garbage… so much of culture, and the people are more then bothered with the fact that now new Cathedral is just opposite of the same University. People cant stand it…but it was surely placed there to show the artificial picture of respect for diversity…. What an irony…

I read the comments on this article and I can’t really believe in what I read…
Why is it so hard to say “Yes, what we did was terrifying in the eyes of the God and the World”. The victims are countless….frankly speaking. The most frightening thing is how youngsters - the future of this “country” are commenting and how the crimes against different ethnicity and religion are so easily justified. And please, if those who comment on these articles, should learn finally that the crime must be punished and that it is LIE that Serbian authorities did not punish people who committed atricities against Albanians in Kosovo ( please do read about it). I would like to hear that someone counts for Serbian victims as well and that someone is held responsible for it.

Strange "Islamist" attack where no Catholic Church has been touched by Albanians. Never! In the contrary, the biggest Catholic cathedral, the Mother Theresa Cathedral, was opened a few years ago in Prishtina. Of course, you don't mention this, since it would expose your propaganda lies. So fail...

Serbian Orthodoxy is only a target because of her crimes against humanity and their ongoing interference in politics. In fact, there is certainly no Christian sect in this world which is farer from Jesus lectures. It is a national(-istic) institution.

A unique documentary on three days of numerous terrorist attacks on Serb and non-Albanian populations in Kosovo-Metohija which lasted from March 17 to 19, 2004. During the pogrom 19 people died
(A. A., 17 March 2013 12:44)

And the majority of the 19 were Albanians... So, I guess, you're saying that the non-Albanians committed even more terrorist attacks than the Albanians.

Ari Gold: I am surprised that you refer to the shocking events of 17-24 March 2004 as an 'Islamist' pogrom. No-one refers to the events of the 1990s as 'Orthodox' or 'Catholic' ethnic cleansing simply because this was the nominal religion of those taking part. A pogrom is a pogrom and ethnic cleansing is ethnic cleansing. The motives behind these appalling events had little or nothing to do with religion as I understand it and everything to do with hatred, the most irreligious of emotions. By all means remember the victims of this incident but don't forget the victims of the atrocities committed on all sides. I don't intend this last comment specifically for Mr Gold but to all commentators here. As a Brit I am keenly aware of the horrors that we inflicted over the centuries and have no intention of trying to defend them. However, the world must (and does) move on.

"During the pogrom 19 people died,..." - 11 of whom were Albanians, most killed by American forces protecting the Serb-majority part of town in Mitrovica against a mob. All the deaths are to be regretted - UNMIK had become complacent after years of tense quiet and didn't respond quickly and forcefully enough, and things rapidly got out of hand. Maybe it would be better for inter-ethnic relations in the future to deflect the blame onto those who were officially in charge at the time.

It is sad that 19 Serbs and Albanians died during this 3 day event. It is even sadder that houses of God were destroyed in roger to quell someone's hate towards another. It is even sadder that no one was arrested bc there is plenty of video footage of perpetrators committing crimes. It is all you need to convict someone. It irrefutably proof that no one can deny.

The other sad point is from 1989 all Albanian police and judges were kicked out of their jobs and then you had a state sponsored pogram against Albanians and their mosques. And this pogram is not new it goes back to the days of the Serbian King and his policies. The point there are plenty of places to point fingers at. The thing we all forget is that as children of God we forgot one of his key commandments. Though shalt not KILL!

All parties did it in the name of their king, then communism, and finally in the name of a politician. You were all mad and forgot Sunday school and God. Each one of you should take a long look at yourselves and see that each one of you is to blame. Who should be blamed more so than the other? I'll leave that to all mighty God himself to determine.

May God Bless each every soul that passed away during the past 20+ years and may God shed light on our current leaders so no such act ever repeats again! So none of our children will experience such madness perpetrated by a few but affected all. And may God damn politicians who use such events for political points.

Its things like this, Islamist pogroms why Serbs will overwhelmingly believe Kosovo i Metohija is Serbia. Obviously you will have your self hating Serb like "Danilo" who supports Hashim Thaci and is happy he is not in prison for trafficking heroin and having Serbian organ blood on his heels but most Serbs understand that since the occupation, Kosovo i Metohija has become a lawless and terrible place to live (for both Serbs & Albanians) and only Serbian control would even bring true rule of law to the province.

Of course there are Albanians even on here who proudly beat their chest over these pogroms against civilian populations. One of the posters (I can't put names to their text to save my life) even tried to compare the Serbs of Northern Kosovo i Metohija and their victory over ROSU terrorists in 2011 to these pogroms. Notice how none of the attacks ever took place in Mitrovica during 2004...because 40 thousand Serbs in one area are odds Albanian nationalists do not like.

2004 Never Forget!

Over 4,000 Serbs left their homes and hundreds of Serbs and non-Albanians were seriously wounded and beaten:

The will never be reconciliation between Albanians and serbs, since you tend to call the victims "extremist and terrorists".
(Ardi Asllani, 17 March 2013 11:03)

Yes, the Albanian mob was a victim. A victim of clan mentality, of lack of education, and a victim of Pristina media propaganda that was spreading lies and hate and inciting violence - RTS under Milosevic couldn't have done it better.

"Look how disgusting and primitive these Albanian nationalists really are. They do not even understand the level of savagery such a statement carries. These people are stuck in another century...." (Ari Gold, 17 March 2013 12:24)

Just a quick question is you wouldn't mind -

whats the difference here between a "disgusting" and "primitive" Albanian Nationalist and "disgusting" and "primitive" Serb nationalist who supports Seselj, Mladic Karadzic et al.

Seems maybe the Alb nationalists arent the only ones stuck in another century.

Somethig to ponder while you look at yourself in the mirror.

"Victims"What would you call someone that kills 10 and expells 4000 serbs within 3 days and add putting on fire 35 orthodox churches to that. I guess in your eyes they are heroes and saints right? And you expect a serbian news agency to not call them what they are?

"During the pogrom 19 people died,..." - 11 of whom were Albanians, most killed by American forces protecting the Serb-majority part of town in Mitrovica against a mob. All the deaths are to be regretted - UNMIK had become complacent after years of tense quiet and didn't respond quickly and forcefully enough, and things rapidly got out of hand. Maybe it would be better for inter-ethnic relations in the future to deflect the blame onto those who were officially in charge at the time.

Well, to be honest they killed 10 of us, and expelled 4000?

We killed 20.000 of them, and expelled a million of them!
We burned 300.000 of their houses, and we say that we are the victims?

Look, non crime is good, but we are the real criminals here! BE REAL

Joe said, 'This "anniversary" is much ado about nothing.'

Whenever Joe speaks - he never fails to insult or instigate. This guy is a stone-hearted creature without the slightest compassion for others (except maybe for Hungarians). How somebody like him could immigrate to the USA?

Will the Kalb trolls who dominate this site please read the independent reports of casualties during the war and the chronology of events. Please do some some work, I know it's hard for you, but you might actually learn something. Parrotting the same old claptrap is becoming extremely tedious.
