After all is said and done, the US and Germany are perfectly aware of the subterfuge that was visited upon Serbia. They know, and privately acknowledge, the lies and manipulations. What I hope they are beginning to realize is that the Serbian people do not hold grudges, if they did, they would not be able to look a Croat or Albanian in the eye again. That is a sign of Serbia's maturity and willingness to compromise. And frankly speaking, as the FBI know, it would be much better that the Western countries keep Serbia in Kosovo in a fashion. Those Albanians have proven themselves to be capable of any madness. As I have said and I know as fact, Serbia is a factor of stability in a dangerous part of the world, where drug and human trafficking are rife., and al Qaeda and radical islam are desperately trying to gain a foothold. Noone can deal better with that threat than the Serbs, on their own patch.

The Albanians coukld easily solve the Question of Kosovo by granting the Serbian Muncipalitys full Independence,
but they wount.

If only able to explain in details what full independence means to you for local municipality affairs? Can you shed some light ,so that I can grant your wish.

I have to say, this government is performing (to the benefit of Serbs) much much much better than the previous sell-outs. Tadic's performance was appalling and he sold Serbia short. He was a poor leader and thank God he is history and his party is in the dumps.

Even those supporting the DS (apart from winston) have crawled under a rock and kept quiet. I'm glad they finally realised how wrong they were.

BTW, this government is also selling out (under pressure), just not in an irreversibly damaging way like Tadic.

The length of Dacic´s statements cannot hide that there is no content and there are strong differences with the statement of Nikolic in Brussels. Possibly Nikolic is not informed or better, he is not interested in such "details". If you look back to the very long negotiations concerning the German-question both or better all sides made very short and clear statements about their demands. Nobody had ever like Dacic made comments about the red line for compromises or the understanding of the positon of the other side. Where are the serbian demands, where?
-return of the Serbs to Kosovo
-freedom of movement to the churches etc. (also for state officials)
-safety of Serbian property in Kosovo
-invastigation of attacks on Serbs, Serb property, churches and cemetries
-freedom of supplyfor Serb medical/educational
institutions
AND for internal use:
-all Serbs who are illoyal and have taken KS-documents relating citizenship will be accused when entering the "free homeland"
-for illigal actions with drugs, weapons etc the in this region the punishment will be extremely increased like in Singapore)
-Albanians will have no more rights in the "free homeland" as Serbs in Kosovo
-there is really no reason for a visa-free travel-regime with Albania -like the US asking foreigners at the visa-application that they must declare that they are no Nazis, sommunists etc, everybody should declare that he was never a member of a armed unit which was fighting against serbia or Serbs

The shame is that I actually think you believe the rubbish you just wrote. YOU know nothing of fact you are rehashing the crimes Albanians are accused of from this forum. You are guilty of the same that you accuse the Albanians. What was false about the information that circulated before the NATO intervention was numbers. What was claimed was happening and the bombing actually saved lives.
Serbia is important for the stabilization of the balkans because it is the #1 postential source for destabilization of the region, it is the ticking time bomb that Europe is trying to defuse. Your leaders want to play that like it is Serbia promoting peace, but in reality without Serbia there is no issue.
The idea of independence for Kosovo comes from actions of Serbia in the past, the support for independence comes from actions of Serbia in the present.

Dacic is willing to do what was unthinkable only last week and that is to negotiate a compromise which will suit both sides.
Thaci thinks he can have it all and feels secure with the EU and the US backing him.
Now that the time is ripe the EU and the US need to make a quick decision to force the will of Thaci and talk him into a deal with Serbia in order to secure what I think is a real opportunity to settle once and for all.

It's the American Izetbegovic replay all over again (the US kills the Cutilhero plan). "No Izzy. You don't have to sign anything if you don't want to". The rest, as they say, is history.

Cheap propaganda without reading carefully the comment. Milosevic has ignored completely the organized resistance by the Albanians in Kosovo over years. No other country had accepted this. There can be only one state-power within a country. And all the examples in the comment are showing how it works in leading Western countries. Within minutes the state will act nd bring people to justice. If you are going to the US it is a strong regime for foreigners to enter the country. I am not sure that Serbia is winning confidence allowing to let him without such procedures the wrong persons. If this will not be changed the smuggling etc can not be stopped. And the fight against such cases is a pre-condition from the EU. The Serbs made ever the mistake not to see the Albanian hate against them seriously. We know what is the result. If there is no friendship, its better to live in seperate houses with well-protected doors. There is still room for the history to make it better, but this is the "branch for dreamers". Why not. They should also get their chance.
