Why don't they try to get it from the "brick" countries? Most likely because from them they would hardly get more than a truck load of bricks.

@ Ian and a new day you guys sound like a typical mass media.. Kosovo will never be independent. I was in kosovo 2 months ago and its on thin ice for conflict.. also I meet a lot of albanians that have serbian papers and dont want to go with pristina because they realize that Kosovo will turn into criminal state and nobody will be safe. Kosovo cant survive without serbia and thats a fact. its easy for everyone to write comments on this site from UK or USA on what you think its best for Kosovo. . You need to go there and see for your self what's happening and then make your opinion.

Interesting post there. I did not think anyone really believed that stuff anymore. Anyway, the thing you do not realize is Serbia is playing nice because they have to. That is right because they have to.
Them sending troops is joke and if you do not realize that there is no hope for you.
Should Serbia send troops itwould condemned by most all the world. China would never support it, NATO would be forced to defend it under terms of the UNSC. Russia would last but not least forbid it as they would be forced to either support Serbia and risk a world war or abandon you as they did in 1999.
Kosovo was a part of Serbia but things change, time to move on.

Its very clear that Kosovo is not independent. If it was they wouldn't keep talking. And I think it sound like a good idea that serbs have the power over kosovo too... What all off you are forgetting is that serbia is just playing nice, they are at the breaking poing to send troops back into kosovo and nobody is going to be able to stop it because both serbs and albanians have big powers that dont want problems with each other... let be realistic kosovo is serbian land going all the way back to 1836.. I think neutral solution needs to be found. (Solic, 10. mart 2013 17:24) You're confusing Kosovo with Northern Kosovo, a region administrated and financed by Belgrade. Northern Kosovo is apart of Serbia where as the rest isn't and Kosovo has a claim over Northern Kosovo, hence the dispute and the negotiations.

Joe

Dardani, I don't think they are interested in those negotiations. They just do the "make belief" game to get the 400-500 million euros yearly assistance from the EU. Why don't they try to get it from the "brick" countries? Most likely because from them they would hardly get more than a truck load of bricks.

Joe

pre 11 godina

Brian, once the serbs notice that the yearly financial assistance from the EU is in danger they will be very "motivated" and capitulate to all conditions. Total capitulation and recognition of Kosovo is just a question of time. In the mean time they try to show their populace that they tried to "save" Kosovo.

So dacic does understand that his role in this talks is what milosevic's role was in the Bosnia talks. To be the main representative of the Serbs in another country. He should leave the talks if he doesn't agree with this. But he has already done so much to cement Kosovo independence and endorse it. The customs agents on the border, the appointment of an ambassador. The regional meetings, the sporting events, all the things he has done to become the biggest supporter of Kosovo independence in the world.

@Ardi, claiming whatsoever for Albanians in Presevo. Medvedja and Bujanovac is more than useless, Either the Albanians in the region are Serbian citizens who respect the Serbian Constitution, Serbian laws, culture and traditions, or they are foreigners and in that case they can only have those essential right like in any Western country. Maybe you think that Serbs should ask Albanians to feel like in their own country.
The most funny thing is that you Albanians are showing off with something you do not deserve. You got "the independence" thank to most powerful countries. Alone , you should be "dans la merde".

Ardi put it perfectly in order, all I got to add is: I do not understand why Kosovo, EU and USA waste time dealing with serbia. Kosovo and serbian people knows that Kosovo is indipendent and has all powerfull countries recognised it so what serbia is thinking now i dont know but I re-assure you one thing that in Kosovo no-one cares what serbia think or does when it comes to Kosovo. With this serb politicians i would not even discus the dinner menu let alone Kosovo.

He stated that Serbia would not accept anything less than the forming of a community of Serb municipalities that would have executive powers.
If Serbia is prepared to accept forming of comminities of municipalities executive powers everywhere in Serbia where there is a non-Serb majority, than Dacic's position will sound convincing. Otherwise we are going back to the disastous for Serbia claim that the Serbs in Krajna had more of a right to seced from Croatia then the Albanians in Kosovo to seced from Serbia.

What executive powers are you talking about. Every Municipality in Kosova has executive power for local population they represent, but the chain of command is all way to Central government in Prishtina. Prishtina holds the executive power over all Municipalities. But,if Serb PM thinks that 4 serb municipalities will have the power to null and void any resolution that is passed in Kosova Parliament, than he is day dreaming big time. There is no such thing anywhere in the world. Just imagen if Presheva,Medvedgja and Bujanovc had the same power! The Serb Parliament will be useless.
