There's an older James Bond movie called 'From Russia with Love' which comes to mind.

How many contracts have you prepared of the type signed by Serbia. Its does not have to relate to gas but oil, electricity or any other form of supply of energy?

Seriously, why more expensive? So much "love" for Russia within Serbia and even NIS has been given for nothing. Yet, 45% higher price than Austria. Why? Any explanations? Maybe our Serbian Russophiles know more..

I'm not surprised that there is no answer, but there is a proverb:

No answer is also an answer.

Thank you for confirming all my assumptions and observations.

Cheers!

John, Serbia gets 'family pricing'. Pay more for oil, Serbia. That's how you stick it to the West.
Now, everyone can live happily ever after.

"According to the deal Serbia can now purchase Russian gas at the price of USD 399 per 1,000 cubic meters, Assistant to the Serbian Energy Minister Petar Stanojević told Tanjug on Thursday."

Not very smart to sign a long term agreement with prices that high! Several energy companies in Germany made a similar mistake some years ago, and now try hard to re-negotiate the contracts with Gazprom to adapt the prices to become closer to current market prices (which are much lower).

Austria has to pay 275$ pcm. Why Serbia has to pay 124$ more for the same product and from the same supplier?
