A valid comparison: Dictatorships and oppression by the state organs was stopped, but instead it was replaced with anarchy, unsafe and unstable environment, poor economy and unemployment, paired with sprouting religious and/or national fanatism, thus creating a safe harbor for criminals and extremists do to their 'business'. Establishing democracy and human rights in those places? Forget about it!

Yes, dictatorships and oppression by the state organs lead to anarchy, unsafe and unstable environment, poor economy and unemployment, paired with sprouting religious and/or national fanatism, thus creating a safe harbor for criminals and extremists do to their 'business'. that's why the first thing to do to solve the problem is to remove the Dictatorships and oppression by the state organs

Mendo- all I can do is comment on what I saw and heard. The Albanians were far more scared of the kla than the Serbs. My friends seemed fairly content with their lives at the time and Pristina was fun place for anyone to be. One of my dear friends disappeared and his family swear it was the kla.

Do Albanians have strategy"

The questions shows ignorance that Serbia lost a part of its territory and is sitting now in Brussels to accept the realities with IBM etc.
The problem of the Serbs is that they have ignored too long the long-lasting Great-Albania strategy. The proud position of the Albanians to boycott over years the serb institutions shows how low the Serbs are acting with taking the Kosovo-ID etc. The Serbs cannot analyse cool the realities and possible ways to make the country stronger. It only becomes worse and more worse.

Top officials define strategy for continuation of talks"

Strategy or they are meaning tactics? How the Serbs can change or create for any round of talks a "new strategy"? They dont now what is a strategy. The are playing with the live and the social fundament of the lives of thousands of Serbs. They cannot guarantee normal clean milk within their little country. And these guys ill guarantee a future for Serbs in the area of Kosovo? There "strategy" is only to secure their own offices, black limos and villas in Dedenje and foreign bank-accounts. Why they should meet again and again with public statements after having their "famous platform"? After a clear word from Germany or Brussels they are ready to change completely their "strategy". And what is the Germany strategy? Only some small sentences outspoken by Merkel in Belgrade, possibly only a litte paper recieved by the leaders from Prishtina. Thats all, and this will not be changed at all. And the German government or parliament had therefore never Serbia only one time on the agenda. This is a strategy in the real meaning of the word.

..and so Prishtina would be stupid to anything to Belgrade when Belgrade declared it will "fulfill all requests". The so-called international community is the group of states which have recognized Kosovo and the see the refuse by Blgrade not to do the same as attack on their political views at all. Beside some aspects of schooling and health-system with transparent payments over Prishtina there is no room for the Serb "ideas". But it looks so that all the great words by the serb elite are only directed to the no-informed Serbs to play the great negotiator. Behind closed doors Belgrade has agreed to let the Serbs n Kosovo alone with heir non-existing future. Belgrade has at the end oranized the exodus of so many Serbs from Croatia, BiH and also Kosovo. They have no emotional feeling for 50 or 60 thousand mainly old people living there. Serbias politicians have explained too long the own people that after the the beginning of EU-talks will the live for the Serbs like in milk and honey. And also after the beginning of these talks they will saying that its now just a short way and so on. (Zoran, 1 March 2013 10:53)

If you read the article Zoran you would have noticed that its Serbia that is asking for compromise from the Kosovars and not the other way around. Pristina doesn't care whether or not Serbia recognizes them. The number of countries world wide that have recognized Kosova have gone up and up since the declaration of independence. B92 conveniently never reports about that anymore though, they prefer to write article about countries that are "resisting" such as Tunisia. Another example of bogus reporting is when B92 refers to the IBM Integrated BORDER Management as an "administrative line". What is an administrative line? No such thing exists. Find a definition online and then you can call it anything else but a BORDER. To call a spade a spade....Kosova is independent.

For some reasons the EU bureaucrats can’t afford telling the truth and call spade a spade. All because EU is not certain of it’s own future and so they care little of those would like to pump out their money like the newcomers did last two decades. The truth is that Serbia has very virtual chances to have the membership. Maximal target for the decade to come will be the candidacy status to last as much as it will be required to make this special people obey Brussels. On the Serbian side the situation is similar and here too nobody dares to tell the same truth.

So both sides pretend to take the candidacy chances as serious ones and play the same game. Best thing I can suggest is that SNS is waiting for it’s electoral ratings to increase even more while the EU idea is discredited day by day by EU itself. So possibly someday Serbs will stop the roundabout talks and take the reality as it is. Such a turn may be a good ultimatum to change something in the EU approach or it may be a start towards euro separatism. At least there are other roots to develop the economy and let the folks plan their lives.

KOSOVA

Kosova to give more...how about 10,000 lives we gave? Was that not enough? I know how human lives mean nothing to serbs (HINT: Bosnian genocide)

“I do not know what else we can propose aside from recognizing Kosovo’s independence and saying ‘nothing we say is respected, do whatever you want’,” he pointed out. "

Its not easy to find the point within Dacic too small desinformation-campaigns. But here we can see, that Prishtina has a clear and firm position, Belgrade is running behind with ists "compromises" what means more having no clear stand at all. Dacic is ready to sell his own grandmother for a date of negotiations without any hope. And if you see the newest food-scandal in Germany created by Serb animal-food with headlines in all German media, there is no way for Serbia to be respected. Possibly this scandal was published now to press Serbia in the direction of total capitulation in Brussels? Serbia doesnt know how to finf the right moment for the right agreement. Its all too small.

"Saying that the 90' in Kosovo were perfect its like saying Assad would be the next pope in Vatikan. "

Iraq, Kosovo, Egypt, Libya, Syria .... feel free to fill the blanks.

Mendo- all I can do is comment on what I saw and heard. The Albanians were far more scared of the kla than the Serbs. My friends seemed fairly content with their lives at the time and Pristina was fun place for anyone to be. One of my dear friends disappeared and his family swear it was the kla.

@Andy,

Saying that the 90' in Kosovo were perfect its like saying Assad would be the next pope in Vatikan. Come on mate 90% of our fathers were kicked out of their jobs just becouse they were Albanians, Schools were closed and so many other things bad that I don't want to list here. I truly wish you have to live in an environment like that.
