There is nothing strange about it but there is something Criminal about it,it isn't a Court its an instrument of US Imperialism, that is quite clear,no trial lasts for ten years, its an obcenity.

A court created by Russia with judges approved by Russia is an instrument of US Imperialism ?! I thought Russia is Serbia's strongest friend, isn't it ?

So the court has shown itself for exactly what it is. A political kangaroo farce.

Seems to be the growing conclusion----among Serbs, who comprise most of the guilty verdicts. I wonder if there is a correlation? I think so!

LOL! What a joke. He went on a hunger strike so that he can exercise his right to defend himself. Practically all protected witnesses gave him permission to reveal their identities and if he wanted to prolong this case, he would have called hundreds of witnesses in his defense but he decided not to even give one.

Lets not forget that he handed himself in, that it has taken 10 years just to hear to prosecution's case and that Djindjic told the West never to release him.

So the court has shown itself for exactly what it is. A political kangaroo farce.
(Zoran, 23 February 2013 16:44)

Brilliant!

You have the opinion Seselj wants people to have of his trial and the ICTY as a whole. His plan is working. You're proof!

However Seselj is also at blame for the duration of this trial for his refusal to co-operate with the Court, sharing Court restricted information outside of the Court (with protected witnesses), hunger strikes, witness intimidation and so on ect.

This is an abnormally long trial, no-one disputes this. However Seselj is also at blame for the duration of this trial for his refusal to co-operate with the Court, sharing Court restricted information outside of the Court (with protected witnesses), hunger strikes, witness intimidation and so on ect. He has even openly stated that he wants "to make a mockery" of his trial, which means he purposely wants this trial to last as long as it can. He is a very smart guy for making this trial last so long as he is attempting to make the court look in the wrong and not him. He wants public opinion to change of his trial. And of course Serbia's political elite are happy for him to be locked up far away from Serbia. Nikolic and Vucic don't want Seselj and the SRS taking votes away from them and the SNS. After all the SNS are a family friendly populist version of the SRS. Well I say it is a good thing that he is behind bars.

Who's Democracy?

pre 11 godina

What is more stunning is that the free and democratic media don't even bat an eyelid over this kind of behavior by the ICTY. They are the first to scream human rights, the right to a fair trial process etc. but here they remain silent. No wonder the 'free' press and journalism is considered more and more the joke that it is. Dr. Goebbles would be proud. Mr. Orwell wouldn't be suprised.

There should be hundreds of thousands on the streets over this outrage.

How very true, the court should have never allowed his tactics for delays to last this long. He should be serving a life sentence since 2006 at the latest!

"I think hand in hand with Milosevic, they are responsible for the nightmare that found Serbia in the 90's"

No, the biggest trouble was from OUTSIDE Serbia, there were long plans to break up Yugoslavia at Serbia's expense, and Germany, U.S., Britain, etc. were waiting at the wings.
They were hosting and supporting separatists and terror groups (such as the Croat Ustasha and their descendants) - even in the decades before the break up.
With the demise and retreat of the Soviet Union and Russia and with the reunification of Germany, there wasn't much to hold them back. Weapons from the former East Germany and former Warsaw Pact states which came under control of the west, were sent to Croatia and Bosnia to be used against Serbs.
The Serbian leaders were played and deceived while the foreign diplomats PRETENDED they didn't want Yugoslavia to fall apart. Meanwhile, they were giving green lights to the separatists in their private talks with them, and their countries' governments were secretly approving military aid and arms to the non-Serb separatists.

the Hague cannot prosecute one individual in ten years. I mean, there is something very strange with that picture.

Well, I have no sympathy for the radical party, or Mr. Seselj, for that matter, I think hand in hand with Milosevic, they are responsible for the nightmare that found Serbia in the 90's. Worst thing is, these same characters, after changing hats, are still in power. As for the length of the trial, that is a black eye for the Hague court, and lends support to those that scream "bias", and that the trial is actually a prison term. I have stated here before, that the Nuremberg Trials were held between 20th November, 1945 and 1st October, 1946, yet the Hague cannot prosecute one individual in ten years. I mean, there is something very strange with that picture.
