But Knežević "took full responsibility for the claim" that the affair was a campaign directed against Serbian farmers, and that it was launched "from several sources".

It always amazes me that even Serbian politicians are not ashamed to happily join the usual crowd in Serbia which likes absurd conspiracy theories and to blame anybody else for their problems :)

Hey everyone, lets get this problem out of our system because the only solution is GMO products. No more drought problems. Now who is being honest here????

Who lives in the fashion world... FCUK... French Connection UK (United Kingdom)

SO FCUK this whole GMO lobby.... Let the DS die and if they think the GMO lobby will save them, then Serbs will bury them.

No GMO in Serbia thank you very much!!!

You are correct, Tina. Maybe these clowns in Belgrade should consult the Croatians, to see how they handled their own problem with tainted milk? But that would be admitting incompetence, something this political mafia in BG would never allow itself to do.

Then why don't you simply wait and see what the independent results are from foreign labs? I do not believe anything these characters in government say, whether it's DS, SNS, or any kind of S. Do you remember Vucic being Milosevic's information minister, when he pretty much wanted to silence any press that was contradictory to Milosevic's regime? And Dacic, who was also Milosevic's and Mira Markovic's little prodigy? And what about the turncoat Nikolic, the former radical, and now progressive? Are you kidding me? These people should have been driven out of town 13 years ago, and sitting in government now. There is a problem with the milk supply, the government knew back in August about the toxic corn, why did they not do anything about it? I could care less about the government's bickering and finger pointing, their GMO conspiracy theories, powerful lobbyists, etc., etc. All I know is that they are now trying to cover their behinds, as opposed to admitting fault, and correcting the problem. And what if Mr. Jesic is correct - should citizens simply sit back and entrust this corrupt political mafia to safeguard their lives, when they are not even capable of destroying toxic crops? I don't know about you, Zoran, but I am not drinking milk, especially because these clowns say it's OK.

This political BS has been going on for how many days??? Someone needs to go show this government how to operate - it is really getting funny to watch these guys blaming each other, photos of a government offical drinking milk, threatening each other with jail, no-one thinking about their country when the countries around them had this contaminated milk. Wow - what a show.

winston, the only party making a political fuss out of this is the DS. I take this seriously because my family and I have been consuming these products.

I cannot believe people are making this toxic milk issue a political one. The milk contains a carcinogenic toxin, it was detected in milk samples throughout the region, Croatia, BiH, and now Serbia - last to detect it by the way. The government knew back in August last year that much of the country's corn was toxic, yet did nothing about it, why? I have a feeling that money was involved, much of it, as usual. Greed is the fuel that drives the political/business engine in Serbia, even if it may be hazardous to the citizens' health. Investigate who stood to lose money from the toxic corn, follow the money trail, and we will have our answer why this foul corn wound up in cattle feed. Stop the ridiculous DS vs. SNS garbage for a moment, and lets concentrate on eradicating this milk problem, and eradicate the scoundrels that allowed this to happen. Remember, the government knew last August that the corn was toxic because of drought conditions, why did it not act then? The toxic domestic corn should have been destroyed, and safe corn imported. BTW, I believe the SNS/SPS was in charge at that time.

They can't get into power fairly, their popularity is falling so they have little left but dirty tricks. As an opposition they are pathetic and offer nothing. Even whilst in power they were pathetic and corrupt. Lets hope this party sinks into oblivion.

The DSS are far more competent as an opposition.

"The cabinet also said that incorrect information released to the public amounted to an attempt "to create conditions for import of GMOs" - illegal under Serbia's current laws." B92

Finally! Glad to hear that!

GMO-SERBIA 2:1

It looks government is starting to move correctly., finally.

I'd not expect that from previous government, to be honest.

NOW, government should create 5 minutes educative videos just before evening news, about dangerous kinds of toxic hazards (about 250) in our food, detection, prevention and decontamination.
