Berlin expects Serbia to act in line with its candidate status for EU membership, senior official at the German Foreign Ministry Nikolaus Graf Lambsdorff says.
And how should we act? Should we openly support war criminals, celebrate ethnic cleansing, erect statues to leaders from the 1990s, prevent the introduction of "foreiggn" languages and alphabets from contaminating our sacred homeland? Should we prevent refugees from returning by making it difficult if not impossible to get back lands taken from them? Should we teach xenophobia and racism in our schools?
If yes, then ok, we'll be like Croatia.
Should we incorporate our mafia directly into our government? Should we steal money from international support organizations, make tax havens out of every enterprise we sell off in privatization? Should we fund a significant portion of our economy on narcotics and other illicit vices?
If so we should be like Montenegro.
Tell me, what defines a "model" EU candidate country these days? :)
Finally somebody had the guts to call a spade, a spade. Belgrade is run by clowns and this is a diplomatic slap. At least when Tadiq was king credibility was on the rise but with SPS and SNS, Serbia simple is going down the tube.
As far as the serbs who whine, "but we did x and y", fundamentally your arguments come down to this: ENTITLEMENT. You are NOT entitled to ANYTHING.
