Vuk Jeremić takes Democrats to Constitutional Court

Vuk Jeremić on Tuesday asked the Serbian Constitutional Court to appraise <a href="http://www.b92.net/eng/news/politics-article.php?yyyy=2013&mm=02&dd=14&nav_id=84693" class="text-link" target= "_blank">the decision of the Democratic Party (DS) to expel him</a>.

winston,
"Funny how Serbians don't have a problem with Jeremic, yet Albanians do,"
The statement was funny and I had to laugh at the ironic nature of posting it under the article that was written and the one previously about expelling him from the party. It is seeming more and more like a lot of the Serb posters here never read the articles and just start posting.

CH and Count, you guys have no self respect and are pathetic. Why are you down on Vuk Jeremic? Is it because you are Albanians, or sympathetic to the Albanian cause in Kosovo? You guys are more concerned about Vuk and Serbia, than Serbians themselves. I know I have answered way too many times on this article, but Jesus, why are you Albanians all over this man? Just because he is battling strong against the Albanian UDI in KiM, it does not make him a bad man. I mean, Thaci is fighting for an independent Albanian KiM, but I do not criticize him for that. Yes, he is a criminal, uneducated, etc., all of that stands, but I respect the fact that he is battling for his drug empire, and those that support it. Oh yea, and an independent Albanian KiM. It's all a matter of which side of the coin you like, isn't it?

Vuk has no self respect. Since he has been drummed out of his party can only indicate they have no confidence in him. With this said, he should immediately resign from his position at the UN so as not to humiliate Serbia further. After all, if he is not seen fit to be a member of his former party, why would any Serb want him representing their country at the UN, even though his title at the UN is merely a symbolic one. I would not be surprised if the UNGA expels him as president so as not to embarrass this prestigious international body.

As if the Constitutional Court doesn't have enough to do, it has to be bothered with this senseless problem.

Jeremic has to face reality. They just don't want him in this party anymore. That's the point. And not the question whether his ejection was unlawful. He's like one of these sociopaths who grab every occasion to use the instruments of law to just have a verdict and to be proven right. Even though it doesn't change reality that his party doesn't want him anymore. that's pathetic.

Asking him to resign is ridiculous, forcing him is anti-democratic.

Having a member of your party taking on such a high profile role should be something to be proud of - instead, this party makes a fool of itself.

This should be the end of Đilas in politics - he has asked for criticism, and Jeremić has very appropriately given it.

Do people in Serbian vote for parties or for individual candidates? If it's the latter, then no one has the right to demand from a MP do return their mandate.

femi, hello on your farm. Cool to see that you have internet service, and the comforts of modern society. You are obviously not in KiM. As for the article, B92 never said that Jeremic would replace Sec. Gen. Ban Ki-moon. They simply printed that there was talk about a possible Jeremic consideration for that position. Personally, I think it would be great, but the US will certainly not allow that, and place their own subservient figure in that position. The UN today is basically worthless, but only because the Western powers have made it so. They jump up and down about UN resolutions when it is their favor, but totally disregard the institution when it does not agree with their agenda - like waging undeclared war on nations. IMHO, the UN should be scraped, it has no real power, and the voices within are muffled, and controlled by Western powers. It's all about military might, economics, and influence today in the UN. Until that changes, or until the balance of power does, the UN is just a stage, a show for the world to have a say, but falls mostly on deaf ears in the West.

Amer, and other Vuk haters, you can hate him all you want, but he will be thorn in your side for years to come. Funny how Serbians don't have a problem with Jeremic, yet Albanians do - with mentions of double salaries, stealing from the State, blah, blah, blah. Jeremic has a right to retain his MP seat, it was given to him by Serbian voters, and not the DS leadership, which has since changed hands, BTW. The young and educated in Serbia love Jeremic, and want to see another 100 like him in BG government. Sorry you Albanians don't feel the same way, but we know why. He stepped on your toes, big time, and will continue to do so.

Amazing how much Albanians dislike Jeremic. He must really stepped on your corns, which means, he did a great job. Another amazing thing, Albanians are overwhelmingly commenting on this story, as opposed to Serbs, again, Vuk is doing a great job. You can bad mouth him all you want, but he is the future of Serbian politics, and I one of his most ardent supporters, so get use to him. Let's see, put Thaci up against Jeremic in a Mensa test, who do you think would come out on top? Envy is a bitch.

(Bahri, 19 February 2013 15:22) "

To be fair, I think it's been reported that he's donating his MP salary to some charitable fund. When he decided to do this - before or after the question of two salaries came up - I don't know. Considering what salaries in Serbia are like, this may not be any great sacrifice. (They're certainly paying him enough in NY not to embarrass the country in front of all the other UN members with any show of poverty.)

The interesting question is whether running for office on a party's list gives the party any control over an official's actions. If he wins a seat but then doesn't fulfill his duties - showing up to vote, for example - it seems a stretch to go to the Constitutional Court to keep the seat.

Winston

Bahri and koko, what is with you guys? You don't think that Jeremic has the right to contest his ejection from the DS, and the termination of his mandate as an MP? Clearly, it appears to be an unlawful act by DS party leadership. Jeremic's position at the will end in September, and he is certainly not done with Serbian politics, in fact he is one of its rising star, if not the. I have a feeling you guys simply do not like Vuk, because of actions against the UDI of Kosovo - admit it. It has nothing to do with communists, or two salaries.

Justice system abuser ....they don't want you ... You are a liar ....you took another job while under oath to serve your country and your party... You are not serving Serbia in anyway but giving it a bad name and making your new boss apologize for you..
