Best of luck to Vuk in whatever he does after his UN GA job. He is one of the few good politicians that Serbia has. The DS imploding is unsurprising given the faction feuding which has been occurring since they lost power in '12. I dont think Jeremic will form his own party but may well choose to join the Socialists or one of the existing ones. My money is on the Socialists. Dacic's time wont last forever and Jeremic jumping on board will reinvigorate the Party. Vuk will be coming back home. He has alot of unfinished business left in Serbia.

He's one of the good guys.

I always thought that Vuk was wasted being in that party.
Hoping he will be able to be his his own man from now on. If he was to form his own party I have no doubt it would quickly become a force to be reckoned with.
Good luck Vuk. You have talent and I would think most of the country with you. You are young, vibrant and dedicated. Serbia needs you to take it forward.

Jeremic was smart to lobby for his own interests and not those of Serbia. I'm sure he'll do well once his mandate at the UN is up.

I'm sure the DS will be better off without him.

Talk was that SPS were closest to getting Jeremic to move to them.
Now though I think Dacic would not be so keen - as his popularity has plummeted and it would surely be a matter of time before Jeremic would be expected to take the leadership...

I personally don't care much what happens to DS, Djilas fancies himself as a good party leader and maybe he would be, but would he be any good for the country? Somehow I doubt it.

I'll be truly ashtonished if the DS survives this act without slitting in two. Well, I don't even wish it would. I wonder does Djilas realize he's chairing a party and not a business corporation? The DS will be a party little bigger than the DSS, I guess.

This is the best news in Serbia for this year. Jeremic is an arrogant and self-centered kid. He thinks no rule applies to him and has no respect for anything.

Perfect. Time for Jeremic to form his wn party, once he is finished at the UN.

My thoughts exactly. I'd like to think he could do to whatever new party he forms in the same way Toma did with SNS but I can't think of anyone from DS I'd like to see defect, let alone have the intelligence to do on their own :)

The DS promptly going into self-destruct mode, once it's no longer the darling of the West? I was skeptical after the last elections, but now it seems that the Serbian people have chosen wisely and things are looking better than before. Though decisions are taken instead of hand-waving and pathetic talk.

Jeremic doesn't need "his" party at all; that's what puts him above pretty much all the others in it. In the meantime, they can go through their own little purgatory - perhaps it'll result in a reformed and stronger party, perhaps it results in their ultimate demise. That's democracy, baby!

Somehow sad to see DS digging their own grave, a party who I considered the most moderate one amongst all the extremist parties in Serbia.

Perfect. Time for Jeremic to form his wn party, once he is finished at the UN. He is the rare one that is highly educated, and never has been linked to any corruption or crime figures. It is leaders like him that Serbia needs, not the old, reconstituted Milosevic era socialists, radicals, communists, and turncoat progressives.
