One can see here almost anything, however one needs to be realistic.

At least you can NOT ignorre facts such as:
-Kosovo has declare Independence, -
-ICJ confirmed it was conform International law,
-Kosovo has been recognized by more than 50% of UN members, by most of the powerful nations and the number of recognitions is increasing.
- Kosovo has become a member of many International Organizations.
-Negotiating directly and independently with EU regarding MAS, while Serbia doing the same Kosovo not included.
-There are no Serbian Institutions, Police, military in Kosovo, Interstate Integrated BORDER Management Agreements have been signed between Serbia and Kosovo....etc etc etc

Calling people think and stupid does not undue any of the above, ignoring all the above facts however makes you look a bit thick, don't you think?

Kind regards,
From United Kingdom

Using the word "realistic" in this context is rather patronizing, and he has every right to think people are stupid for giving weight to the facts above. If you actually read the positions of the states supporting Kosovo's independence in the ICJ, it's clear that it passed through pure clout and invective free of logic. You can simulate the same effect at a party when a large group of people pressure someone to down another mug of beer.

Dear Sj,

I'm here because I like to follow what happens in that region, and I since B92 is in English. I would like to take this opportunity to than them for, even if I feel often they allow too many insulting albanophobic comments to come through mainly from "Serbian cam".

I never said that recognition of Kosovo by Serbia was insignificant, in fact it is possibly the most important recognition remaining.

I Agree that Kosovo has not made the progress everybody waited and hooped for, but Kosovo was in ruins after the one-sided War. Mismanaged for many years before that. In our case, Northern Ireland is in similar size to Kosovo, more developed yet London sends over 30 billion annually in aid and supports with administration.
Kosovo instead is being undermined by internal and external forces but mostly by Serbia.

Euro-Atlantic integration by all Countries of you region including Serbia and Kosovo and good neighborly relations between the same is important.

It will not benefit anybody to look back regionally or in wider context of Europe. Todays EU will become in all but name United States of Europe, to later join USA. Negotiations of Free Trade ongoing as we speak.
EU-USA is >50% of the World Economy, your Countries should be part of EU-USA, this has not alternative. Your politicians know it, are desperately working towards it. One inch in that direction they hail as great success, ans so they should. But they also should be honest with their citizens, that would help.

I’m curious to know why doesn’t the UK let Northern Ireland go its own way? English people are not attached to that part of the region like the Serbs are to Kosovo (cultural)?
The EU’s long term plan is for Kosovo to economically reintegrate with Belgrade because as it stands it’s a non functioning body fully funded by Brussels. They want everyone to kiss and make up then as industry opens up in Serbia, allow the Albanians to seek work there. The west will never relocate industry to Kosovo. Its run by a thug called Thaci. The man was a known criminal who the west now parade as a democrat and they don’t see this irony.
What ever happens in the future the EU is finished as we know it today. Its now a debt riddled entity where even the Germans are now in recession. There is no benefit in joining the EU at all. Look at how far Romania or Bulgaria or Hungary or Slovenia have gone; in fact Slovenia has gone backwards in leaps and bounds. All these countries got on joining is EU goods dumped at very cheap prices that local producers could not meet.
Free trade means corpations can choose where to establish industry and set the price for labor then if the locals get too restless pack up and leave or bring in workers who will work for $5 Euro per hour instead of 15 or 20. God help you if you think you are going to be better off with free trade

If all major countries have recognized Kosovo then what’s your problem then? Why are you commenting here? Surely a small country like Serbia is irrelevant when the superpowers are with you? So why are you so concerned if Serbs are deluded?
Integrated border management is what they are telling you because the document signed does not mention borders at all. It talks about an agreement on taxing people using certain roads out of Kosovo and how that money is to be divided.
When is Pristina is taking over dual institutions? or better still what has Pristina done to reduce 70% unemployment in Kosovo. How many industries are about to expand in Kosovo?
Haven’t you wondered that after 13 years you haven’t got anywhere now all of a sudden success? It’s the EU shoving Pristina in Belgrade’s direction. Money is short in Brussels and they can’t afford to keep paying for Kosovo’s running. Why do you think Thaci was threatened by his own people on several occasions?
If Russia is nothing what is the mighty US waiting for in Syria? Why not arm the rebels and attack the government?

Sj,

You don't seem to be very aware of the world you live in. Please read below and reflect.

Countries that recognized Kosovo as an Independent Sate are:
-EU (minus some small insignificant countries indeed),
-Mighty USA,the only Super Power on this planet for sometime now,
-Japan, stronger in all aspects than India, Russia and Brazil together.
-Australia, Canada, Saudi Arabia....only to name the few.

-In terms of the military power and the GDP more than 80% of the World has recognized Kosovo as an Independent State, exchanged ambassadors, established diplomatic relations etc.

-ALL neighboring countries but Serbia has recognized Kosovo as an Independent State. Serbia has indeed signed and is implementing IBM (Integrated BORDER Management), now abolishes of the parallel institutions in Kosovo, accepting establishment of the Kosovo Institutions in entire Republic of Kosovo.

You can be as emotional as you like, but that takes you nowhere.
You can not be true to the reality and deny all the above as insignificant, and maintain that the fact that Serbia hasn't yet formally recognized Kosovo is the only thing that matters.
Only by being true to ourselves and others, being realistic and not ignoring the facts we can get somewhere. Otherwise you and some risk being seen as deluded and collectively hypnotized.

Kosovo can declare what it likes but until we say yes then it’s dead in the waters – dead. Oh yes the ICJ and with that ruling it declared that all women can be half pregnant; not pregnant just half pregnant. You can have the entire UN recognize you but it Belgrade that calls the shots.
“Recognized by the most powerful nations” and who are they? The US? It has to borrow from China to start a new war; France or UK, don’t get me started on those has-beens who think this is 1850. Both of these “powers” today couldn’t fend off a drunk with a broken bottle.
Serbian institutions are not needed when the EU is funding everything and according to agreements. There is NO such document called BORDER Management Agreements and on top there are no State symbols on what look like a toll booths on several very muddy roads.
An independent state has the capacity to pay for its own police, educators, and doctors, build hospital and schools etc. Even with the proceeds from these toll booths Kosovo cannot pay for one fifth of its current police force let alone anything else.

So Thaci is basically offering slightly less than Belgrade is pushing for, and still thinks "integration" is a positive word as a deal sweetener. Seeing as how he already relented on health, education and public services AND no imposition of authority over the north, one has to wonder why "integration" is necessary at all since he's basically offering them autonomy while direct ties with Belgrade. About as intelligent as Belgrade offering Kosovo all the trappings of independence without calling it independent :)
